I'm feeling horribly angry right now and I'm very close to yelling my brother dumb - I don't want to do this.

Should I beat up a pillow? Watch a calming movie? Take a shower? What?

Go outside and run or walk for awhile. It helps.

Honestly, right at the moment, no matter what you feel like, try to resist doing anything. You don't think logically when you're angry, and it could lead you to doing something you will regret. It helps to be alone so you can let loose without having to worry about people knowing. After a few minutes, let someone know what's going on.. Tell whoever you're mad at, or a friend of yours, or a close family member. umm, it helps to do something that distracts your attention from what happened. Read/watch something funny, or quickly think about something else. When you think back to why you were mad, you'll be a lot less tense and a lot more in control of your emotions..

err, if this didn't help at all,

sorry!

but it's what i do..and it keeps me from doing anything embarrassing/stupid..

The best thing to do is to take a walk with some headphones on listening to some soft classical music. The worse thing to do is take your anger out on your brother when he didn't do anything wrong. Try using some breathing techniques or go to the gym and do some exercising.

Hope this helps blow off some steam....I would also try taking a bubble bath with some light music on, it helps you relax.

Take some deep breaths and then go and take a bath. Try to get your mind off of whatever has made you this angry. But then again, if your brother did something really bad that made you this angry, go and tell your parents about it and let them discipline him.

I heard this joke and unsure if you heard of it before:

A couple was quarelling and everytime after they quarelled, the wife would go to the toilet and washed the toilet and ocme out feeling better...

One day, the husband asked why. Her reply was,"whenever we quarelled, I'd go in the toilet washing the toilet with... (paused) your toothbrush."

Haha................................

Seriously, whenever I am angry, I'd take a car-ride to cool off steam. If not, turning on my ipod and walking along and thinking. I cry often too. So, after I cried, I'll tend to be sleepy and sleep throughout and think about it the next day...

Or maybe talking to someone would make you feel better. By telling someone, you're also letting it all out. sharing with someone will make you feel better.

Breathe in and out helps too. thats why some people smoke to release stress. If not, take in sweets/chocolates. :)

Drive on the freeway rocking out to your favorite CD...loud! The pillow idea is good too!

Go do whatever you like. As long as its not harmful or anything. So if you wanna go splurge on ice cream; do it. Or if you want to go out; do that.
What really helps me is to watch a movie or go out and get something sweet to eat.
