I suppose the same way coming here as a criminal from the get-go is a step up for them.
They need to face reality. Americans will never have compassion for a group of people who stand together to uphold criminality in the United States of America. The USA has criminals within her citizens, we have illegal immigrants from all parts of the world. We punish citizens and other illegal immigrants for their criminal behavior and we will punish those of Latino/Hispanic/Mexican/South American/Central American descent right along with any other CRIMINALS. If they wanted a better life they should have started it out 'better', legally. Ethiopian people want a better life, too, but they're not entering our country illegally by the millions!
Americans will always remember how the illegal immigrants from our border with Mexico came into our country and acted so disrespectful, arrogant, filthy and demanded rights they didn't have. They will always be treated with contempt, despised and shunned. The legal Latinos will also suffer simply because they are of the same (sub)culture. If legal Latinos don't want to suffer right along with those criminals, they need to get off their duffs and help rid our country of those vermin, stand with other AMERICAN citizens and fight those illegal immigrants who bring indignity to their legal, law abiding people. If I were a legal American citizen of Latino descent, I would be ashamed to admit it after the way those invaders have acted.
(I'm not a Latino, if I were, I would be legal and fighting the illegal invaders in every way I could. Illegal invaders bring shame to their people)
I would like a better life, but can I just move into Biltmore House and call it HOME? NO!!
Same thing with illegal immigrants, you have to EARN the lifestyle you live. THEY, first have to enter this country LEGALLY. No legal papers; NO ENTRY, PERIOD●

Depends on where you come from and comparing your life there to America. I'm pretty sure if you moved to the United States of America you probably came for economic reasons and I believe America has many of those (not as much as they used to).

It's not a better life. If nothing is done to stop this 21st century slave trade, we will all eventually live like that. Corrupt politicians controlled by big corporations will not stop until everyone lives like that because of their greed. They don't care who suffers, US citizens or anyone else.

if they all lived in their own place, they would not have nearly as much money to send to their POOR POOR families in Mexico and since they all get food stamps (because they live alone) and med care that they NEVER have to pay for they can save a lot of it.. They don't want a better life..another excuse.they want to steal what is not rightfully theirs to take (welfare, health care, education) .. Some of them had a better life pre-moving here than we as Americans have every day of the year...my aunt needed food stamps..they told her she would have to sell her house she worked all her life to buy for about $50 in food stamps....they come here and get it by lieing....

Get a better life in their home countries, you should see the humongous houses I saw on my last trip to Mexico! Most of the people living in them had relatives working in the U.S. It's not that there aren't big houses in Mexico, but these were in non-rich towns!

Well maybe you should educate yourself about what it was like for these people before they made that choice.
It's really easy to ask such an ignorant question when you have a warm place to live.
