How can I cut my own bangs without messing up?

wet you bangs - always cut them wet
then hold your elbow high up as far as it will go with the scissors at your bangs. Your arm should really be uncomfortable this means it is straight.
Lower your head so when looking into the mirror you are looking through your hair. If you can't see, you have selected too much hair. Part most of it back. You should be able to see through the hair, comb it straight down but not pasted to your head.
Then with light little bit at a time cuts go across using your eyes as a guide. Cut the hair at the space just under the eye. When you look back up this will place your wet bangs just under you brow and they will shrink up when they are dry so curb the urge to mess with perfection and recut.
I went to school years ago and have cut my own bangs, when I did have them for years. this really is fool proof.

I hope u can understand this Take a small section of your hair around your forhead not real thick twist the hair and hold it at the tip of your nose and cut it that will leave it shorter not too short though in the middle and longer around the side of your eyebrows and if you want side bangs just take hair from around one side of your head along with the same u twist and bring that all to the tip of your nose and there ya go!!!! It was good advice to be careful when you're cutting wet bangs, because the water in your hair makes them heavy and stretch, that's why it appears shorter when your hair is dry. But why cut it wet in the first place?! If you want a layered look to your bangs, use a razor for that instead of scissors. If you have a friend to trust, let them do it instead, it's hard to cut straight across.

No I've done it tons of times. One thing to remember ALWAYS is not to cut it too short or to cut it the length that you want when it's wet because it'll get shorter as it dries. Get a good pair of scissors and a comb and cut it a little bit longer than you want (just in case you don't get it completely even and play the see saw game with your bangs). I hope this helps! My mother has taught me how to do this many times! First, you can either wash your hair or just wet it. You always have to wet it so that it will stay together and will be easier to handle. Use a thin scissors and don't cut straight across. Cut with the tips of the scissors pointing towards the ceiling and snip otherwise it'll look like a blunt cut if you do it straight across. Ick!!
