I scan them in and assign them to a .jpeg file (is this correct?). But when I try to access them, say to load into myspace, I can't get them to upload.

The correct extension is .jpg. If you select that image type the software should assign the .jpg extension automatically. If your machine hides extensions for registered file types (the Windows default and very dumb IMHO) and you add .jpeg to the file name it will show up as .jpeg.jpg. Most systems block files with double extensions as they may be viruses.

Be sure your file name is .jpg - then be sure your myspace will accept a .jpg file extension. It could be too big too...
Some spaces will only accept up to certain file sizes.
