Be honest, you have to go back to the gym. Free weights at home are for small muscles only unless you have all the weights you need for the large muscle training. Furthermore, it's not safe to do it alone at home, go to the gym with your friend so that both of you have a spotter. For your bench press you may go for few hundred pounds one day, probably it's not possible in your situation at home. You can still use your free weights for biceps curls, etc

You have to trust me.

I always used to be a weakling, but once i got to college I started lifting regularly. It's a couple of months later and I'm stronger than ever, including my chest. I do bench press every other day, and I also do pushups everyday, usually 40-50 all at once. If you just have free weights that is enough, but it matters how heavy they are. Fewer reps with more weight builds muscle while more reps with less weight creates tone. Your best bet is to lift at least 3 times a week and each workout should be something like 3 sets of 8-10 reps. It is also important to have a spotter so that you can do more without the worry of getting stuck under your own weights. I know how you feel about lifting, but if you get into the habit of lifting every other day you'll feel better about yourself and also anytime you don't lift you start to feel guilty which is a good motivation to go lift.

lay on your back and do butterflys... bring the weights to the floor and use your pecs and all those muscles to bring them up and keep your arms straight... and bring the weights over your body and make them touch.... do that in 3 sets of 20 a day or every other day and you should get some nice muscle there!!

Use your dumbbells do butterfly's, standing or lying down, bend arms holding dumbbells upright at shoulder, now use resistance as you push forearms together and pull them back to sides, also hold arms out in front of you, holding dumbbells with your knuckles touching, spread arms wide to side and then bend elbows and pull back as far as you can, then back to the front, use resistance as if attached to a cable as you do these. This will develop your chest, pectoral and your back.

Try Arnold Schwarzenegger's book. You don't need more than 25 pound dumbbells. Just lots of reps.

use your own body weight and do pushups with your feet crossed and keep your body completely straight. Do the pushups slowly, the slower the better.
