Sounds like an anxious little girl. Perhaps some more time spent with her doing finger painting or something with her hands.

My son starting doing it, but not until he was 4. I had to take him to the doctors for something else, so I mentioned it. The doctore told him how dirty it was and can make your tummy sick. I ended up getting the polish stuff, and after the first time of using it, he stopped altogether. This won't work for everyone. My brother used to bite his nails, and it didn't work for him...he just chewed it off. It only worked when my parents made him by the stuff himself with his pocket oney. 21 months is very young, so bribery and that sort of stuff probably won't work. Maybe if you take favourite toys of her, it may help

I was older when I did this, but my grandmother told me that my nails were made of boogers- like from my nose! lol This made me stop biting them entirely! Now she seems younger, so I dunno if she'll really understand... could u put band aids on them or would she take them off? My son is 15 months, and he listens really well when I tell him No no calmly, but firmly. So see if that will help. And catch her each time, and each time tell her No. Say that it will hurt her if she does it- just to let her know why she shouldn't be doing this.
Goodluck! If she still does it when she gets older- try telling her what my grandma did to me!

Don't know how to stop it. My sister has been doing the sam her entire life, she is now in her 40s. Everything was tried with her from putting socks on her hands to that stuff you paint on them to make them taste horrid. She has kept on biting. Even just prior to her wedding when she had acrylics put on for $50.00 she BIT through them the morning of the wedding.

did you attempt portray her nails and telling her how especially they are, and that she doesnt want to chew her nail because of the fact they wont be as especially any extra, it would artwork, in step with threat take her to the save and characteristic her %. out a nail polish if she doesnt chew them for a definite quantity of time, additionally you're able to desire to attempt dipping her hands in vinegar so if she bites them she wont like it. My mom did that to me and it labored!

Maybe you can get ome non toxic polish and paint your nails together. tell her that if she bites her nails then they wont look as pretty. My daughter is 2 and she loves for me to clip her nails...im not sure why, strikes me as a bit odd, but oh well! it maks it easy for me to get it done!

I would address the situation to her doctor. I don't think I would let it go because she could get down to her skin and hurt herself. Talk to your doctor about this problem he/she should be able to give you the advice you are looking for.
