If you never take a chance, you'll never allow yourself to fall in love again.
I'm sure that you don't want to stay single forever, so you will learn to trust someone again.
Just give it time. When you're ready, you'll know.
You have to make yourself vulnerable to find love. There's no way around it.
Heartbreak is just another part of life. You just have to remember to LEARN from it. That's the important part. If you don't learn from the experience, then it wasn't worth anything at all.

You can't stop living because you're afraid of getting hurt, but you can live smartly. It generally doesn't take people too long before they show their true colors. Live, date, have fun, just don't ignore warning signs. Don't make excuses for people when you notice something's off. Don't ignore your misgivings because you Want to believe what some smooth talker is saying. Trust yourself and love yourself enough to walk away from someone who doesn't appreciate you. You will get hurt, you will cry on your friend's shoulders, but if you value yourself as you should you will get through just fine and end up weeding through the bad to wind up with someone good for you.

I understand I once had a wall around my heart too but remember everyone gets hurt, it's just a part of life. If you don't let anyone in you 'll never experience love. I am not saying that you won't get hurt because you will but in the end it's worth it.

It depends on your age. If you are looking to get married then, are you ready? If you are not looking to get married and you are so sensitive then wait, there is no rush. Don't play with your life, is very sad to loose the meaning of real love. The man you need will arrive when you are ready and willing to suffer all it takes to love another person. To love is to suffer.

What happened with your ex shouldn't control your life now. He's over and gone.
You need to do only what you think you're ready for. NEVER force yourself or rush into things with a guy.

" don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game "
i say go for it, i've been hurt before, and i'm still playing the game. just set your fears aside, and if he does say no, don't take it so hard.

Try to go for it but take it slow. Happiness normally takes some risk.
