Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Weight Loss Surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

I too have had this surgery and have had no major complications. I started at 230 and now weigh 115 and have for over two years. I'm full of energy (most of the time) and am very happy with my results. I don't miss the food at all.

I do have minor complications. Sometimes I get sick because I've eaten to quickly or don't chew well enough. Sometimes chicken doesn't settle well. Oh, and I've had a few kidney stones caused from all the calcium I'm consuming. Cheese and milk are good sources of protein.

I also had the "band" put around my new stomach when I had the surgery so my pouch will never stretch out. That's one thing you need to be careful with. I've seen several bypass patients gain the weight back because they don't make permanent lifestyle changes. They end up stretching their pouch out and gain a bulk (50+ pounds) back.

If you are considering this surgery....do your homework. Ask a lot of questions. Read, read, read. Research every aspect. You need to be emotionally and physically ready for this challenge.

Good luck.

i had this surgery 2 yrs ago on Feb10. i weighed in at 230. I am holding now for the past 8 months at 133. i have not even TRIED to drop the last 15 lbs that i want to get rid of. i plan to start working at that soon. i am totally thrilled with my surgery and unless you have a psychological disorder that makes you eat i think it will be wonderful for you too.

The hardest part for me has been the vitamins. i have to remember to take them every day... or your hair does not grow. :-) But i seem to be able to get all my protien in and i can eat EVERYTHING i used to eat except soda and somtimes black olives. i might be unusual in having it all go SO perfectly, but it really has been the best thing in the world for me... send me an email if you decide to do this and want some support. c_g_meyer@yahoo.com
