First off, Happy New year, and thank you to the previous people who helped me with Olivia, my Yorkshire Terrier. But, I yet again have an issue with her.

She always shakes and cowers after we watch a movie or play music, even if it's not very loud. She is going to be 7 months soon, and she weighs under 4 pounds as of now. She pants and paces nearby the doorway, or cowers to my mom's bedroom and sits in the same spot. We looked around and found nothing strange. She likes to go outside and she usually smells where males "marked" territory, and leaves a scent as well. We are not sure if she is in Heat or there is a psychological/physical issue. She has never acted up this way. We made an appointment for the vet, this behaviour has lasted for 3 days almost. We also think that maybe her teeth hurt? Her top teeth, I think, has the adult tooth growing over the baby one. Hard to describe, there's a straight tooth, then a smaller one curling backwards. Is the small one a baby tooth? Thanks!

These behaviors were never an issue to her. This all started about 3 nights ago, and she has never had a heat cycle before.

Please take your dog to a vet. You should have your dog spayed by the time she is 6 months old. If you think she is in heat, why is she running aroung where other dogs are? Whenever you think your dog has a problem, take your dog to the vet immediately. She certainly has a tooth problem. Something is causing your dog distress. You will have to figure it out. I had a puppy quite a while ago and it was acting strangely. I finally caught my bf pinching him when I wasn't looking. I would never have suspected. The puppy and I both straightened out when we got rid of him. Not saying that is it, but just keep your eyes open.

i'm not sure if this is possible, but depending on where you got your dog from, it may have started it's life in a loud and unpredictable environment. Maybe you should test her before she goes to the vet, and make sure that you know exactly when she begins shaking. i'd hold her while watching a movie and see if the shaking continues. most likely it's not anything serious and it will probably get better for her with time. puppies grow out of their strange behaviors for the most part as long as they are comfortable and getting their needs met

If she has had all of her vaccines you have nothing to worry about. Has the dog been fixed? If so my dog was fixed and had many attitude changes dramatically very frequently. If you had recently been around another animal your dog might just be picking up a new scent. Some dogs lose, all or partial, hearing at a young age, sense you mentioned staring into space and not responding to your call. Mood changes and swings can occur to any animal.

everything in the world is bigger than a 4 pound yorkie ! and she just needs your protection... small dogs bark at what scares them and everything scares them... the cowering sounds like fear , just carry her when she is scared...and 6 months is time for the first "heat" cycle. she is done now. she will cycle every 6 months.so protect her. or fix her.
