Well first of all the soul is not immortal, the soul is the complete being or living body, it is not a seperate entity, for instance Adam 'came to be a living soul' (Genesis 2:7) it does not say 'he was given a soul'. Ezekiel 18:4 shows that 'the soul that is sinning - it itself will die', so souls are not immortal, ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 show that the dead are conscious of nothing at all and there is no knowledge in the grave (hebrew 'sheol').
True there are scriptures which speak of the lake of fire for instance in revelation, however when taken in context it is obvious that they are talking about everlasting 'destruction', rather than everlasting 'torment'.
However, he bible does speak of a definite time in which the wicked will be judged and destroyed (Read Revelation 11:18), it is not talking in wishy washy terms about a 'vague' sort of destiny for wicked people.

Yep. The Bible and Jesus is very clear that God is going to destroy the sinners both body and soul.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
The bible says very clearly "the soul who sins shall die!"
4 “ Behold, all souls are Mine;
The soul of the father
As well as the soul of the son is Mine;
The soul who sins shall die. (Ezekiel 18:4)
And die means the opposite of live. It is not living in eternal torment, but destroyed, consumed, turned to dust, as nothing.
The idea of eternal torment in hell is not biblical, it is imported pagan doctrine into the Church. This doctrine is originated in the devil's mind. And he has been successful in turning many people from the teaching of the Bible because it is not logical to think that a loving God will do such monstrous thing. It is not even humane, let alone divine. The bible teaches that there is an end of sin and sinners and the devil. they will all end up in the fire that nothing can quench until it has done its job completely, turning everything sinful into dust or ahses, here on this earth, and after that there will be a clean earth. Malachi 4:1-3
1 “For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the LORD of hosts,
“ That will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,”
Says the LORD of hosts.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[c] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

it is those who do not know God and do not obey God that will be destroyed for eternity, that is so that things that are happening now will not come back to be and it would be unfair to those who are loyal to God-to have to put up with the crimes and violence and misery caused by unloving disobedient humans who do not respect anyone even do not respect God, God has the right to say how humans should behave, and what behaviour is bad and what is good! God is truly Just there is no Justice without God Almighty and he is the one who will bring order into the world shortly and if that means the destruction of trouble makers he not only has the power to do this but also the right to carry this through, and those who say the wicked will not be destroyed are not only following in the devils footsteps in rebelling against God but also carrying and promoting Satan's lie it was Satan who in the garden of Eden lied to Eve in direct contrast to what God told the first human couple,that if they disobeyed him,they would die, ut satan said",you positively will not die, so who do those ones believe?Would you say they believe God or would you say they believe Satan just as Adam and Eve did?

the bible also says the earth is a flat quadriateral, that people live to be 300+ year old, people can survive in the belly of a whale for 3 days, that disobedient children should be stoned, that the universe was created in 7 days, along with many many other fascinating stories that belong in the fairy tale section of barnes and nobles.

Rev 20:10-15
10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

That's funny. When I read your question, immediately Psalm 37 jumped into my mind. That pretty much says it all. But then you can read Revelation 19-22 if any doubt remains...
