I know that some people think that Ted Haggard's problems were because Satan tempted him. But wouldn't he have to be gay already in order to be tempted by man-tail?

Well, I'm tempted not to respect this question as I find it disrespectful...but for the sake of all. There is a common lie in our society today that says people are born homosexual. There is not a specific verse where the Bible states the contrary, but it is characterized in the Old Testament Bible stories as a sin of immorality and a form of societal corruption. This being the case, I doubt seriously that Mr. Haggard was a homosexual by "nature" prior to the illicit activities for which he was exposed. I do think that he had been at this behavior for some time prior to being caught, and that there was doubtlessly a pattern of decline and compromises that led him to that state. But he was not born a homosexual. I would not say that satan himself tempted Mr. Haggard to engage in immorality, either. But I do think that if the wicked spirits of darkness were looking for someone to lead into sin, someone in his high ranking, high profile position would make a grand target. Simply because of the potential havoc his fall could wreak. The spirits of darkness would love to capsize a large ministry like that to reproach the name of Christ, and the bigger the size of the ministry, the more the man at the top of it all becomes a walking target.

Ted Haggard IS Satan!

Ted Haggard's problems were not because he was tempted His problems were because he is a sinful human like the rest of us. He was supposed to be an example for others and he will have to answer for his failure. God saves us from Hell and will help us resist temptation but we have to do our part too as long as we are in the flesh on earth. Saved or Lost we are all sinners, the only thing special about Christians is our final destination. We all still have to make the journey as sinners, some as lost sinners some as sinners saved by grace.

His problem is not with satan , it is with his free will choice he made to sin ! satan is just a tempter and a liar that makes you think everything is OK when it comes to disobeying God ! ( Remember Genesis 3 : 3 - 4 ... But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden , God hath said , Ye shall not eat of it , neither shall ye touch it , lest ye die , And the serpent said unto the woman , Ye shall not surely die )... that`s the advice the devil gave then , and it is the same advice that sinners take today . There are penalties for sinning ! So ; As you cannot be born gay , then at some earlier time he choose to disobey God , and live as the world , in lust . We all come short of the Glory of God , we all have the ability to sin ! Studying Gods` Word and keeping your attention turned to the things of The Lord is the only way to overcome the human desire to sin !!

Everyone is tempted. Whether one wants to believe in a literal Satan or the innate evil that dwells in every person, everyone struggles with different desires. Haggard's main problem was hypocrisy.

What a crock. The guy is about as gay as they come. You can tell by his lips. People often are so ready to blame all their own misgivings and sins on satan. Satan doesn't need to interfere that awfully much in this generation in order for sin to happen.
Man is quite good at sinning without any involvement from satan.

Like born gay you mean?? Impossible.

Let’s pretend that they are correct and gays are "born that way." In life, some are born with disease. Some are born with maladies. They don’t give in to those maladies, but they fight against them. They get help. There is no way that G-d will simply let a person be born a homosexual. Choices were made along the way that brought out and gave birth to the homosexuality. Let me ask you: Are people born murderers?

G-d would never allow it to be impossible for anyone to honor Him.

Blessings for 2007

The Christian satan, maybe. but not the Satanic Satan. It's two different things. The christian one is the one everyone blames for sin. The Satanic Satan is the one I worship, yes... Myself.

Well, it depends who you ask. I personally believe (with the agreement of some homosexuals) that homosexuality is a form of lust, one which anyone can be tempted by. Someone who does not agree with this, might agree with your theory.

His problems stem from his greed and his own hedonistic desires.
