Hi. I have biracial daughters who have silky but curly hair (caucasian texture). My oldest's strands are very delicate and baby fine.

The BEST thing you can do for your hair is to NOT comb or brush it when it's dry. Buy a big, baby blue brush from Wal-Mart that's made by Goody. They have them for straight, wavy, and curly hair (you'll see on the label). Buy the one for curly hair to be used when your hair is wet. It's wonderful and worth the $7

When your hair is wet, put a tiny pea size drop of Fusion (FX) Silk Drops that are in the caucasian hair section at Wal-Mart for $6, in the palm of your hands, rub together and work through your hair, then comb or brush it. Scrunch it up to define your curls. Then let your hair dry naturally. The Fusion Silk drops will last for a looong time so worth the price for the little, clear bottle.

You will have wonderful curly, not frizzy locks. Combing or brushing curly hair when it's dry will give you a big ole fro and your curls won't be defined.

My daughters are always complimented on how beautiful their hair is. Perfect strangers will touch it and comment on how soft it is.

Please do try that and let me know how it goes.

Curly hair is actually in almost an oval shape, compared to straight hair. Because of its bend, the natural oil your scalp produces to protect it has a hard time finding its way down the rest of your hair. In a nutshell, it wants some moisture. Also check your diet, take a daily vitamin to supplement if you're not getting it through your food. Don't EVER brush curly hair. You're just asking for trouble. And when it's wet, detangle carefully.

Are you brushing or combing it wet? If you are, DON'T. The hair stretches when wet, and is more prone to breakage. If your hair is long, you need special wide tooth combs to comb it, never the regular combs. Keep it trimmed too, like about every 4 months cut off an inch or two. Also use conditioner on it after you shampoo, and don't completely rinse it out, that will help straighten it out some too.

Go look at that then go to wal-mart and buy it! It's only about 15 dollars and it works really great! My hair is very curly and thick but it makes it look thinner, straight and shiny! You don't even have to put anything on your hair, just use the flat iron. The brand is Andis and it may not look exactly like the one in this pic but it's simular. I have a friend that had the same problem and now she thanks me and wished she would have met me before she got married so she would have known about this flat iron LOL. Trust me for 15 bucks it works great and I've had mine for over a year and it's still doing its job!

Use a diffuser and some moisturizing hair stuff. They make products specifically for curly hair. Also, try taking some vitamins. Good luck!

get a haircut... a good one! also, ask for a conditioning treatment while you're at the salon and a deep conditioner that you can use at home. you need to be using professional products on your hair. so talk to your stylist about something that will be right for your hair type and texture.

Sounds like you need a good conditioner. Cholesterol made by Lustra silk is good, leave it on for 5 minutes. That should help.

Try using a leave in conditioner or hot oil treatment. They will soften and strengthen your hair.
