In humans growth, emotions precede the development of language, and so language can only approximate them. This is one reason that poetry feels closer to describing the complexities of human emotion than plain prose. The dual or triple messages that can be held in poetry make it more likely to convey the feelings of the author. Try reading a Shakespeare sonnet or a Robert Frost or Jane Kenyon poem.

Emotions are interpreted different for everyone , therefore none can be solely defined by words. Ex. I love my friend. Love can mean many different things, to many different people. You may love your friend in a respectful way, a sexual way, brotherly way etc... then try defining respect, or brotherly or even sexual---believe it or not there are even different sexual meanings to many people....and so on

i love your question...
i think because We ourselves have a hard time truley understanding ourselves.. the human emotions are so complex.. but a beautiful thing.. its part of being you.. you could talk and talk but the person your talking to still would never 100 percent understand how you feel.. your life experiences are different so therefor your life veiws will be different.. great question

This has a lot to do with ones vocabulary. The more words you learn to use correctly, the easier it is to express yourself.
For example:
I feel *ignorant* means that you feel uneducated, not that you feel like you were being rude.
