Water! You need to drink a lot more water! I found out the hard way myself, I used to have terribly chapped lips that didn't want to heal but a friend told me to start drinking more water and now my lips are just fine.

Read about Cortibalm. I've had chronically dry peeling lips and this stuff is a miracle. After i recieved and used my samples, i bought them off ebay. it is a bit pricier than Chapstick but then again, this is no ordinary lipbalm. I found it after googling 'chronically peeling lips' because i was tired of using Chapstick and other brands that only gave me a headache from the smell and the feeling like i'm eating the stuff and them doing nothing to heal my lips.
This stuff lasts on your lips quite a while after you put it on but it never feels "greasy" although you can feel it on your lips. I had to throw away the Carmex after one use because it tasted and smelled so terrible and it seeped into my mouth making me cringe. The Cortibalm by Dr. Dan is virtually odorless, tasteless, so much better than Chapstick or anything else out there. I honestly cannot say enough about it.
It's also highly recommended for acne medication users such as Accutane who develop dry, peeling lips from the medication.
Send for a free sample and experience it for yourself. It's hard to believe i'm praising something as trivial as lip balm but when you've tried everything you know to heal your lips, you're so grateful to not have to peel off the flakes on your lips and them looking awful and painful.
As great as it is though, it is not a 'use it once and no more dry peeling lips, ever'. Just like a lotion you might use for your face or body, you have to use it regularly to maintain healthy lips, maybe more or less depending on the season or depending on the severity from medications or chemotherapy which can also cause dry lips.
You will be so glad to have found this. I've been raving about it to my whole family and even suggested to my sister to sell the lip balm on her overseas website store.
Try it !

I HAD chapped lips, yet then right that's what I did and it have been given rid of them: a million) I took a toothbrush and scrubbed each and all of the lifeless dermis off of my lips. 2) I smeared Murad dermis Soothin Lip scientific care, Neutrogena Lip nutrition severe advance Lip scientific care, and Carmex throughout my lips. I then went to mattress and wakened with softer lips that have been extra hydrated. 3) That total day I utilized burts bees lip balm a minimum of as quickly as an hour. via day after immediately my lips have been suited!

Chapstick works somewhat, but if you want a real quick "cure", try BAG BALM. Walgreens, CVS, and other drug stores carry it. You have to ask for it since they sometimes put it in other sections of store. Farmers used it for dry and cracked cow or horse hoofs and now anyone can use it. When we go skiing we always take some for our lips and it really works quickly!

Try some bag balm- it's what farmers actually use to help say cows udders to stay protected. But it's actually a good moist.er for womens/ mens lips. And they're starting to use and sell it in the beauty isles. It helps alot. And celebraties are even starting to recognize and use it- such as faith hill. good luck

Burt's Bees lip balm is magic!
The Body Shop used to sell something called "Lipscuff" that is fantastic too. I haven't been there in a while though to know if they still have it.

any moisturizing lip balm. Stay away from carmex because it contains an acid that makes lips worse. Read the ingredient list.

Carmex works for me. I like the kind in the little jar best. The kind in the tube wears off faster.
