No, in ancient Japan where the ninja originated they would try and keep secrecy of their previous profiles. Once you begin training to become a ninja you are known as (what has been translated to) Reptur [or keeper of sins] and when you become promoted to ninja that is what you are referred to from then on. Ninja's no longer have public lives so the namelessness is not a problem.

Ninja were just normal people with different lifestyles and martial arts from the samurai of their time. So, their names were whatever they were given. Many japanese at that time had different names through different stages of their lives.

The ninja had normal japanese names for their time, probably closer to the peasant names than the aristocracy names.

Names were probably like: Jirou, Hachiroubei, Tarou, Gorou, Shichirou, Jinemon. Those are all typical type names for the sengoku period, which is the time the ninja are best known for (although they existed much earlier).

They have personal names . They also have styles that can be a description of the ninja . There are also titles that go with rank .
