If you want to spend the money to get Pro-Activ only for it to not work for you go ahead... my recommendation is Clearasil Ultra line. They have a guarantee that you're skin will be clearer in thirty days or you get your money back. I haven't needed to use this guarantee, as I have had much success with the products. They don't dry me out like ProActiv and other products have, and they aren't really all that expensive. Also, try to eliminate some junk foods from your diet. Potato chips & chocolate are acnes best friends, and your worst enemy.

acne is an internal problem. topical creams and soaps, etc...will never clear up the problem. it's like trying to kill a tree by endlessly hacking away at the leaves and never getting to the root of the problem. acne is either a hormonal problem or a digestive problem. both problems can be cured by the foods you eat. drink lots of water and don't eat anything but green vegetables for two days (especially lots of cucumber). your face should really clear up quite a bit in just two days...then slowly introduce other foods starting with fresh fruits, then lean meats. if you notice new pimples forming then stop eating the newly added foods til your face clears up then add other foods slowly

Most OTC acne products contain an ingredient called Benzoyl Peroxide. Check labels for different strengths of this ingredient. It can dry the skin significantly also.

My son has had a problem with acne for years. He has very fair, sensitive skin. I ordered him Proactive off the infomercial, even though I almost never respond to those things. He's been using it about a year now, and it seems to be working very well for him.

Hm. Clean&Clear as well as Clearasil makes me break out. My best tip: don't pick at the pimples at all. Just let them be. Might went away like that. The stuff I tried that wasn't OTC bleached my face and made it puffy and red, and it made it peel like crazy. Biore works somewhat, it makes skin really silky and blemishes go away.

Hope I helped. :]
