My hubby and his unit are in Iraq but they are coming home in late Feb. woo hoo!! Jan 15 is the last day we can mail them packages. I have been sending them candy and things for all the holidays and in between. I love sending them stuff. Is it too early to get this last holiday in? Sounds silly but I will actually miss getting to make care packages for them. Thanks.

It is never too early to send any gift to anyone for any reason especially if it is to a service person. Thank you to your husband and to you for supporting him. God bless you and your husband and his unit and all the rest of the service people and the whole USA.

I would ship it now, better early then late. Especially since they are set to come home soon after Feb. 14th. Although you have been sending packages for a while, make sure there is nothing that can melt or is perishable, since the mail rooms can be 50 degrees warmer then the outside temp.
Congrats on them coming home soon, and bless you for doing what you could for them all.

I do not believe that they have to pay for their own flights home each year. I would imagine most are on a deployment which lasts a certain period of time. At the end of their deployment they may be entitled to return to their base. My brother in law was in the Navy, and whilst single had his rent paid for in full whilst on service overseas. He was afforded leave in Dubai whilst on assignment too. Considering Nike, Reebok, Adidas and all the most expensive (and some of the highest quality) sports shoes are made in China (or other Asian nations) unsure what the origin of the boots has to do with the post. If I was the government I would wanting my money back from the manufacturer.

I would think that now would be a great time to start making your valenties day care packages. by the time you finish and you send them in the mail your timing should be perfect. it ususally take a month for the soldiers to recieve mail so...also just because your hubby is comming home with his unit doesnt mean you have to stop sending care packages there are pleanty of soldiers who would appreciate that gesture and there are lots of local families who have organized group care packages to be sent to random units in iraq and afganistan...
also i hope your husband comes home safely. god bless him and all the troops.( i have a soldier of my own too)

Never too early. They love packages. In fact I would make up some holidays just for them. Hero day, for one. Warrior of the month, That extra step. They deserve all we can do for them.

Send it, they will have something to look forward to. Besides it's the thought that counts.
