when i want to download from microsoft it says my version of windows has to be genuine so some1 help me

Legally you cannot. My suggestion, wait for Windows Vista to be released in a few months and just buy it legally!

If you have a legally purchased copy of windows you just have to activate it with your CD key and then when you go to that genuine verification site you just hit okay or whatever when it asks you to start the check and it goes on to the download... you may have to fix the activex install box if it pops up and tell it to allow it to use it though.

If your copy is not a legitimate one, you cannot make it so. You will have to purchase your own copy.
