LSD heightens cognition, fastens up synaptic nerve response while elevating neuro-transmitter activity in the cerebral cortex.

Religion gets people high for the same reason.

Yes, years ago when I was about 19 y/o. Scared the living s**t outta me and I couldn't sleep for 3 days. Never did that again. I won't go into the religious experience specifically. It's way too complicated to explain.

Never used it. I'm not crazy. Haven't smoked the herb in years, wasn't a big fan, anyway. I like clear lungs, clear mind. I do enjoy champagne and beer.

As far as religious experiences on acid go, I figure that those who see the aliens and the starships might want to explain why on earth aliens would come all the way here to make crop circles in wheat, rip out the hearts of cattle, stick prods up men's butts and smash up people's cars.

I have had life altering experiences, but not religious - like seeing someone in so totally a new light as to not be able to speak to them again, kind of thing and interesting discussions on the nature of existence, etc., but no visions or auras even.

Peace!

I have not but my brother once told me when he was high (won't go into detail got to keep something personal since its not my story) on narcotics that he had one.. that he literally stopped breathing and things went black and then there was a man whom he couldn't see any details of because of the light and he could hear the voice of what he said was god and the voice told him that one day it would be to late... and for a week he was freaked out and said he wouldn't touch anything but pot.. his friends that were present told me that he was shaking and having seizures at the time..

I can't say that I've had a religious experience, but I have had intense personal enlightenment, specifically while listening to Pink Floyd.
