It's NORMAL when someone first finds the Lord! It's like falling in love! Let her be; even if you don't quite follow everything she's saying right now. She's on a high, and is just trying to express the wonder of what's taken place in her life. God will bless you for your patience!

Whenever someone gets a really good gift, they are usually very excited about it and want to show everybody, and talk about it. After the excitement dies down she will become more quiet about it. Be patient and don't take get angry. Becoming a born again christian is the most exciting thing in the world, just like the song Amazing Grace says, I once was blind but now I see, she just received her spiritual eyes and is now seeing a whole new world, and seeing this one in a new light.

Explain to her that you believe in God and that you respect her views - but to listen to her ramblings constantly makes you want to turn away from God - she will shut up in a hurry because she doesn't want to be the reason you turn away from God

Be happy for her. She wants to share her treasure. As she matures in her faith I hope God's love shines through her and brings more sunshine and happiness into your life. Be patient with her and keep in mind that she wants the best for you although it may seem irritating right now!

I have the same issue as you with my brother in law. He is a devote christian who does not drink, prays at every meal and constantly recites scripture to me. I am a catholic but not devout and simply unsure of what I do beleive in. It becomes an issue when he comes to my house when he expects me to pray at every meal and reads me scripture from (my opinion) his point of view. I said to him nicely, " I am glad you are happy with your choices, but they are not mine. I love you for who you are and what you beleive, please accept me for who I am and what I beleive and stop trying to get me to accept your point of view. If I choose scripture it will be from my prospective and not yours and finally I wont drink at your house and I will pray with you at yours because I respect that is your rules, but respect that I wont do that in my house and I will drink in my house if I choose because those are mine. We have a mutual understanding now and it has not been an issue since. Honesty in how you feel is always the best policy. Use I messages when you speak, no one can tell you how you feel, so say; when you do this I feel this. Works likes a charm everytime.

Let her know in a nice way that she's going on and on about and that it is starting to get annoying. If she really cares about you she'll tone it down a bit.

New Christians can be annoying. I know, I was one myself, some years ago.
Try telling her that you appreciate her enthusiasm but she needs to remember to show the same respect for where you are with your spirituality that she wants you to show her with hers.

She has just had the most wonderful experience known to human beings....being born again.
Rejoice with her, listen to her knowledge. At the right time, remind her it is Christian and loving to listen as well as speak. Let her know you still love and accept her, she may be seeking your validation.
Blessings in 2007
