For "brothers and sisters", it's "siblings". For "sons and daughters", it's "children". For "mother and father", it's "parents" For "grandfather and grandmother", it's "grandparents". What is the collective term for "aunts and uncles"? What is it for "nieces and nephews"?

These are kinship terms that are just not present in English. There is no single word to use, either for aunt/uncle or niece/nephew.

Parents' siblings is the correct term, but it is so awkward no one uses it. If it was important, English would have borrowed a term from a language that had it, as we did "patio", "machete", "sampan", "orang hutan" and "kangaroo".

I used to call my nieces and nephews "scurries", because that described what they did a lot of at family gatherings when they were youngers, but it never caught on. Again, there isn't a collective term.

Nieces and Nephews collectively are niblings. There is no term for aunts and uncles.
