I work in an industry supplying various supermarkets.
Believe me when I say that you get what you pay for, it's the main reason I never buy fruit from outdoor/indoor markets, as I know their standards and how they treat the product before it reaches them.
I would trust Tesco for peelable fruit but if you can't peel it then I won't buy it (after seeing some of the disgusting hands than get on them before reaching the shelves) instead I take supplements.

Beware of many of the 'best' label products from supermarkets. They are the same as lower priced items, they just have fancy packaging. Tesco are not on their own with this trick on the public.

Don't use supermarkets - use smaller,preferably organic suppliers and you really will taste finer and different food.
