what does your mom say? Talk with her

This sounds tough. You paid with money you earned? Then it's your horse, unless there is an agreement that there is shared ownership with food and board costs being split.

Have you talked to your Mom about this problem? Maybe she could your stepfather to help him understand that training the horse with you could be a good father daughter bonding and that he shouldn't expect to own the horse.

Other than that, you'll have to find someone else to help you train your horse.

Good luck and a Happy 2007!

Tell him you'll pay for his time when he helps you, but you want him to stay out of your business otherwise. He'll get pissed off but the horse is your responsibility. You may want to pay someone else to help you train it. Otherwise, if you can't afford to pay for the help, then you'll need to suck it up and let him be a part of rearing the horse. Even though you paid for it, if he's helping, paying for the feed, care and putting time into the horse that you may not be able to do, then it's pretty much his horse too. Sorry :\

I would just get someone else to help me with her then. If he wants you to do it yourself then do it. Make friends with someone who can help you who has lots of experience training horses. Look into 4-H or saddle clubs or riding stables. There should be someone around who you could pay or will do it for free.
