My friend wants to know how long she should date her boyfriend before she marries him. Yes, she does love him. She's 19 and he's 30. Thanks

Any couple should date AT LEAST a year before getting engaged. And I'm talking serious dating, including meeting all the family, celebrating holidays together, and seeing each other almost every day. That way, you really get to know the person, you get to see them in different contexts (with family, with friends, alone, etc.) and in different situations (work, school, home, etc.). You also get to experience a lot of things together -- good and bad -- which helps you recognize if s/he is going to be the kind of person that you would want to be with forever.

How long have they been dating? Lots of things to consider in a guy that you would think about marrying. The length of time to date before marriage isn't important. There are things that tell a girl that a guy can be a real loser. Have her open her eyes and take a good look at a 30 year old guy who dates a 19 year old. She needs to understand things about marriage.

She should wait until she's 30 ... life prospectives about what you want, what you will tolerate and not as well as who you are as a person will change dramatically from late teens, early 20s to late 20s ... if they can withstand the test of time and still say they love each other then go for it

they are in two different stages in their lives to make a committment like that. She need to explore the world and get to know herself first. I would say that a couple should date for no less than 3 years before marriage to be sure that they are not too eager and that have definitely have found their life partner.

when coming to something as important and lasting as marraige, there shouldnt be a doubt of the love between the two people and it doesnt sound like theres doubt. when the two people decide they are in the right place to be married thats the time. tell her not to worry, when the time is right it will happen. everything happens for a reason!

That depends on the couple. Is she a "mature" 19? If she is or isn't, she should not be in a hurry. Both of them are still young.

they are both of consentuall age so there should be no time limit when it is time they both will know, if one or the other has questions about the age limits. then they should take enough time to talk untill the questioning party is satisfied. if they marry now the question will only pose bigger problems later on

Wait till she's twenty-one. Wait a minute, why is a girl of nineteen dating a man past his twenties? He should be banned from her presence.
