any kind of mousse is good, as long as your not harsh on your hair.

I was having this same problem and I think it's because I was using the Chi oil before blowdrying, and I read on the net that oils before blowdrying (heat) can burn your hair just like cooking with oil on a stove. However, I recently started trying the Horse Mane 'N Tail shampoo and conditioner and it is AWESOME!!! No more breakage and I didn't have to get my hair cut. Now, I just have to bear with it throught the growing out stage. Just use a small dab of the conditioner if you use it though, because it doesn't take much at a time. Horse Mane 'N tail also makes a detangler to spray in that's not heavy you could use instead of a mousse or gel. It doesn't weigh your hair down. Check out www.manentail.com. Also, drink soy milk. It's good for your hair.

well, you really do need to get a hair cut. if you don't then your split ends will just get worse.... they will get up higher & higher. getting it trimmed will take off the super gross split & dead ends which stops the breakage for the most part. if you just get a trim, then you won't loose so much hair but you will loose a bunch of yucky split ends and some frizzies too!!!
get a super conditioning treatment & use that 1-2 times a week. don't wash your hair every day, but instead wash it every 2-3 days with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. trying to lay off the blow dryer will help. if you can avoid using it all together that would really help... for a week or two... or more. plus, you can get products that help protect your hair from the heat of blow drying & curling irons. yeah, like the chick said below-- a serum will help with the frizzies & it will be less abrasive on your hair. it won't leave it looking crunchy either.

really u will need a haircut, if its breaking off, trim it so ur ends look clean and then work on keeping it healthy, nothing out there is gonna fix what is done, but trimming it and keeping it healthy is ur best bet. also instead of mouse or gel, unless u need hold, id use a serum, its an oil base that will calm the frizz

Get a little trim to get rid of the dry ends and use Infusium 23 spray in conditioner after you wash it and before you fix it. You'll notice a difference in a week.

stop using any products you have recently started using. it could be causing it. i also have curly hair and to prevent excess breakage...i use a good conditioner daily and a treatment at least once a week. you may need to get a trim even if you don't want to but if you want your hair to be long...trimming it would be the thing to do. good luck!

You need to get a hydrating shampoo and conditioner and most likely if your hair is breaking off you need to get it cut. Try using a hair lotion to control frizz- it moisturizes and smooths. Biosilk works really good.

I say use Carrot Oil or Carrot Oil grease. That helps to stop the breakage.
