Ask the priest. Some churches even have large tanks of holy water with spigots where you can fill up your own container with holy water (kind of like a water cooler). Just don't take any holy water from the regular fonts where people dip their fingers by the door, or from the baptismal font (unless the priest OK's it). That would be pretty tacky.

Some churches have a dispenser where you can get holy water in your own container. Mine has one at the back of the church. If your church doesn't have this, take some water in a container and ask the priest to bless it.
But why do you want it? If you are suddenly feeling the need of holy water at home, maybe you should talk to your priest about why you feel this need; he may have other ideas too.

While the answer above may be correct in that Church *policy* prohibits the sale of blessed items, I'd point out that there is no "legal" reason that the Church cannot charge as much as they want for anything at all. There is no *legal* price control on religious items. Now, what *would* be illegal would be if the individual in question was selling something that was not his, and that he had no legal title to. So if there is holy water in the church and church policy is that it not be sold, then any church official who took some and sold it without permission would be selling stolen property. Richard

Bring a container next time you go to mass and ask your priest.
You can buy a "holy water" container on line but any jar will do. You can also buy "holy water" on line from a number of religious sites.

No you can not just take the holy water. Ask your Priest if youcan have some and he will probably give you some in a vial.

I think it's probably okay, but it's probably best to ask the priest (or deacon or whomever, if the priest isn't around) first.
That way, if someone sees you taking holy water and thinks it's suspicious and tells the priest, you're covered.

I believe it is allowed. When I visited my parents during block leave, they have one in container.
