ok i want to help these 3 dogs that came up in my yard. there was 2 girls & 1 boy. 1 girl is very pregnant & will have puppies very soon, the other girls paw is hurt, & the boy is very protective of them (not aggresive). the dog with the hurt paw (cocoa) is really hiper & loves to play but she will not put her hind paw on the ground. the dog that is pregnant (missy) is very skiddish & if i move to fast she jumps & runs. the boy (jack) is very playful but if i make 1 of the girls scared or anything he runs in front of them. i really like them(u can kinda tell cuz i named em) but cannot keep them. i think they belong to someone cuz theyre not skinny & jack has a collar on but it doesnt have a name on it. i really want to help them without keeping them or taking them to a vet. what could i do to help cocoas paw & help missy with her pregnancy & Jack?

my sister breeds peekapoos.... Missy should be okay if you look on the internet for some tips on dog-whelping. and as for Cocoa, try to get a good look at that paw..make sure nothing is stuck in it like a splenter or something, and try wrapping it with medical tape and cotton. Jack sounds like a good guard dog, he is the leader like in a horse herd, he takes charge and makes sure nothing hurts his herd.

Hope this helps!!!

Call an animal shelter. This way Missy can go through with her pregnancy with less of a chance of killing pups (puppies are adopted really fast)

Cocoa can get her paw all fixed up (the sooner the better. Hurry before its infected and leg has to be amputated)

If they have an owner then they can be reclaimed (if the owner is looking for them and stopped by a shelter then the shelter will call and tell them)

By the sounds of it, they would all be adopted anyway

You cant keep them and you dont want to call a vet or anything..how is that helping them?
Just take them to a vet or run an ad in the lost and found section of the newspaper and maybe the owners will respond. If not then see if you can find them a good home.Be prepared to feed and water and house these 3 dogs in the meantime.Otherwise you will have no choice but to turn them over to the animal rescue /shelter.

If you can help them please do so, I have four dogs at the present time. I have had many come to me the same way as these dogs came to you, you have to be a good person if they have got so close to you. Dogs are very aware of people's personalities. Right now it is hard on me, because I have 4 dogs and limited income. But I always say I have more heart than money, some cities have services that will help animals. Finally I would like to say if you can't keep them, then find them a good home. As should you turn them over to a dog shelter, if they are not placed they may die. 'Dogs ask for very little and give so much more in return.

I would call your veterinarian and explain the situation. They may be willing to help you out or recommend a animal rescue group that might. Please keep in mind you may initially get skeptical responses as people have tried to use excuses like this for free/discounted treatment.

Also, call your local shelters, veterinary hospitals and dog wardens to find out if anyone is missing three dogs. If they are well loved and escaped, then someone is out there looking for them.

For the moment provide them with a safe shelter, water, blankets and food. When providing food, go slow in case any of them are food aggresive. Provide the pregnant female with her own space and blankes- but not one's you like in case she goes into labor. She could be naturally skittish or uneasy because of pregnancy or impending labor. Make sure her space is private and even gives her privacy from you; it'll make her less nervous. With her go slow, no sudden movements and use a very soft, low tone of voice. Try tempting her with some sort of treat so that she gets a little more comfortable.

I hope this helps a little. You are doing those 3 a great service.

take then to the asap or your local animal wareend. they could have flies, rabies, or other problems that could hurt any other pets you have. if you can't take them to the vet this is the next choice.
