I'm deciding what I should get for my next tattoo the options are:
a) A flag from my country (fairly similar to the Australian flag but slightly different) on my wrist
b) My family's clan's motto from the bottom of our crest (I have a scottish surname) on/ around my ankle
Any other suggestions are welcome

bribri and Adrianne - you guys got exactly the reasons I want those tattoos! (Flag representing my country and Clan Motto for family but not cliche)
Caitie444 - the info about hurt factor kinda swayed me for the order of things, so thanks for that.

They both seem like awesome tattoo's. I heard that places that bend hurt the most(elbows, wrists, etc).Also based on you pain tolerance too. The one on your ankle sounds pretty neat. My brother has our family crest on his shoulder and it looks awesome. So i would say probs the ankle one more but go with whatever you think you would like more. Anything close to bone will be bothersome. Did you think the back hurt? The back has more connection with the spine, causing the needle to basically vibrate your whole back, the hip wont be like that. I think you will be fine. Its all about pain tolerance. If you can do one, you can do two. But ONLY get a tattoo that has meaning to you - not because you think its cool. When you are 80 and wrinkled - will you still look at that tattoo for inspiration or remembrance?

i need to know whether your a man or a woman,seems like both of those tattoos are more for a man but were your putting them seems like there more for a woman,if its for a woman something more individualistic and more beautiful like a vine or more ornamental would be more sensual than a flag or crest I'm just a guy who knows what he likes on a woman ,not that you have to do it for us you have to live with it.

maybe go with one around your ankle, if it is your first one you may not want others to always see it especially if you dont like it that much. But go with whatever one you like best. If you like the one that you will put on your wrist then get that one.
