That is a simple one "merci mon amour" or to say "thank you very much my love" say "merci beaucoup mon amour". "Mon ami" is "My friend" so you definitely would not want to say that to the person if you love them. Saying "Merci mon ami", is just saying "Thank you, my friend," Similar to "Merci mez amies" which is "Thank You my Friends".
The whole masculine Vs. Feminine in this case deals mostly with the word "my". If you are a man it would typically be "Mon"; and if you are a woman it would be "Ma". However, in french grammar, if you have a vowel ending a word, followed by a vowel beginning a work, you drop the vowel on the first word, and combine them with the Accent mark ' (Apostrophe or more properly an Acute Accent).
If you were to say "Merci mon Chere" you are saying "Thank You my food", and saying "Merci mon Cher" you are saying "Thank You my dear". "Merci mon trésor" can be interpreted as "Thank you my treasure" or "Thank You my Finances"; not a particularly good route to go.
Also, "Merci ma chéri" or "Merci mon chérie", or some variation of the two will work. Use "Mon" if you are a male, and "Ma" if you are a female. Use "chéri" if speaking to a male, and "chérie" if speaking to a female.
So if you are saying it as a female to a someone, you should say properly "Merci M'amour", and if you are a Male Saying it to someone it would be "merci mon amour."
To those that had Criticisms, and Comments prior to me editing this, and giving a small french lesson; Merci de vos réponses, mais vous pouvez tous embrasser mon âne.

Obviously not fluent in French there, buddy. You can't say "ma amour" or even "m'amour". It has to always stay "mon amour".
