Now. Buy a cami style or sports bra-there are many out there specifically for tweens that they love to wear, especially with matching panties, etc. Don't make her feel weird, just suggest that it's time to cover up nicely now that she is growing up. Let her pick the first couple (splurge on Ltd Too or somewhere really nice) and then just make it a routine purchase after that.

8-9, or whenever you start to see through the shirts she wears or she asks you for one. Limited Too has a great line of training bras, plus bras built into shirts, and many other cute ways to wear bras. They've made them cute, comfortable, and not even visible in most cases!

Remember, if you can see through her shirt or she "jiggles" when she moves, or if she comes to you asking for one, go get one. I remember seeing the big training bra trend was buying a ton of different color camis and some simple training bras, and then wear camis under shirts, or wear the actual bra if you can't wear the cami.

Good luck!!

Immediately- and this is something that she should be "proud" of- not ashamed, nor should the issue be ignored. If you have noticed, others will be on the way, so for dignity and the reduction of possible humiliation for her introduce a training sports bra now.

Help her celebrate that she is well on her way of becoming a stong, wonderful woman- even if she still is your baby girl :).

Now. Seriously. You can get her to wear sports bras. Girls are developing CRAZY early. My daughter is 11 and she wears a bigger sized bra than some adult women. Good luck, now is when the fun begins :)

Why not try a sports bra. That is what I bought my daughter for the first bra, They are alot more comfortable. Seems to me that girls are maturing faster now.

Now. You can get some at Target or KMart. There is a great book called The Care & Keeping of Me by American Girl that explains all the changes

Girls develop at different ages. Start with a undershirt, if that doesn't work start her with a training bra. You need to do this so that she is not made fun of or embarrassed.

Now might be a good time, I know it's probably a tough thing for you. But you don't want her not having one if she needs it. I think I got my first one at 10, and I had to ask my mom for one, which was horrible. Just ask her one day if she would like to go shopping for one. I'm sure with you doing the asking it won't be too bad for her, and there's nothing wrong with her having one at 8.

I would at least if nothing else try a tank style undershirt... there are toooooo many child predators out there to risk giving them something to look at that their SICK mind may perceive as attractive.

When your daughter starts asking about it. When she doesn't feel comfortable....don't push anything onto her too fast. She'll let you know when she wants to. 8 yrs, i feel is a little too early.
