Get an empty bottle and fill it with stones and then replace the lid.
Everytime macy does something wrong thats not allowed shake the bottle.
By doing this macy will learn to associate the sound with something wrong and in time macy will learn whats right and wrong without the bottle.

when she jumps, hold her paws, until the point where she is wanting to fall over. she will learn.

another trick:

you need 2 people for this

one person is the "stake" hold the leash and do not move. the other person is the "guest" the guest will walk over to greet the dog....when the dog jumps, the guess turns and walks away. wait 20-30 seconds and repeat, keep turning away when she jumps, she will eventaully get bored of the game, and sit when the person comes. give the dog a quick reward(piece of hot dog or something easy to chew an swallow) and repeat enough times to where she is sitting every time the guest comes by.

this works by using the "real life" rewards system. the dog gets pats and treats when the guest comes, and she does the correct thing (sitting) eventually she will sit when anyone new comes to the house because she will think they have a treat for her.

do not use the knee in the chest method, or some people tell you to pinch her paws...the only thing that will teach her is not to jump on you...anyone else will be fair game!

I learned from my trainer so I can help. When she is about to jump on you, move out of her way and don't let her touch you. Once she gets tired, just give her a "good girl" and a treat. Soon she'll stop doing the jumping thing. As for the biting. Any book will tell you that anytime a dog's teeth makes contact with human skin to start saying NO. No contact is acceptable. Good luck! :) And Happy New Year!

I have trained all of my dogs by myself as some trainers can be abusive. This also includes grooming as I also do this myself to my beloved Cockapoo. The reason for this is a trainer or groomer may work on the dog beyond his Stress level which is extremely unhealthy they are not bad people they just may not be aware. Never touch or hit your dog! What I do is lower my voice and say his name repeating NO, this is a NO NO. If he continues to jump get him a harness, not a collar as he may choke on this, and a leash out of material, not steel. These are available cheaply at Fred Meyers, but if you want them to give you the exact proper size bring him to Pet. co. where they allow the dogs to shop and have large table of treats that are not too expensive that you can let him sniff and pick out his favorite. These you will need as you train him and can buy all three items for under 20.00 I prefer Mudbay as they seem to be kinder and more animal oriented. Keep him on the leash and when walking by people grab lower on the leash to stop him from reaching the people. Tell him NO in a low voice and after a while he will not jump on them. EVERY time he is good you should have his treats in your pocket and give him only one. Pet him and show him your love for him. I hug my puppy as he is small and tell him how good he is doing. Houdini is now 11 months old, no longer jumps on anyone, on the leash or not. He legally should be on a leash unless you are in a Dog Park. As I am on a very tight budget I buy his treats at Fred Meyers for $2.20 and they are called the original Milk-bone dog treats that says they are great for training. Best of luck and Much Aloha lisamarie

What we did- yes some may think it is cruel, but we kneed our dog in the stomach when he jumped. He didn't like that and quit jumping up after 2-3 more times of it. It was quick, easy, and he still loves us afterwards. Sometimes you need to be firm and dominant. Think about it- what do lead dogs do in a pack when a subordinant jumps on them- they bite them.
It is something you want fixed though. A friend of the family had a large dog that jumped up on people constantly- it accidently bowled this kid over and smacked her head on the cement- caused a lawsuit.

Petsmart has reasonable but good Obedience Classes. I have my 5 month old puppy enrolled in the Puppy Kindergarten class now. 8 classes are $119. The dog learns in addition to basic obedience how to socialize with other dogs and people. Jumping on people in the class won't be tolerated so she will learn "no jump". It is not a lot of money and the lessons your pup will learn are invaluable.

On this one you will need some one help you. First when your dog jumps on you make a like tree and stand still don't push say anything. when she calms down give her treat and praise her. have some one else help you out with this also. your dog will learn that she will not get any attention when she is not calm. And when you have Friends over tell them not to greet her when they first come in, wait for her to be calm. you will have to give her lots of treats for doing what you want her to do.

Well this worked for me, I once read that if you grab the dogs paws and gently place him/her down everytime they jump on someone they will stop doing it. Also tell people when they come to your door to ignore the dog until they have entered. The reason dogs do that is because of the attention, if they are not getting it they will stop doing it and they hate having thier paws grabbed. It worked for me, my dog doesnt jump on anyone anymore, not even when i walk him.

When she jumps up on them tell her no and step on her back feet a few weeks of that she will stop, that's what most trainers will do as a "training".
