I believe in God but compare God to the big bang theory. I mean there is no way we were made from a freak nature accident when some randon atoms can together and made us. I mean what is the odds of having all the parts of a clock and then randomly they put themselves together and make a clock.

You are so naive...

The event of the Big Bang may not have been the first ever.. it may have been the billionth or the trillion-billionth... recall that the universe is an infinite entity and time is nothing to it. Try keeping that in mind as you resort your thinking.

Do you now think the clock could not possibly "put itself together?" An infinite universe would have as many tries as it needed to complete the task and it would keep on mindlessly trying to do so until the task was complete - it would also then continue to toss and turn itself afterward as well. It's work is never done.. it evolves continuously.

As to your question: Why do some not believe in "God"? That is simply because there is no apparent evidence that "God" is or has ever been - certainly it is clear to you that there is no vital need for a "God" and surely you agree that the Bible and the holy books which came before and after it are no proof of "Gods" being - certainly you are aware that there are plenty of other beliefs of the world... all claiming validity with just as little to claim it as for your God-based ideas.

Belief is no basis upon which to decide truth. Faith is an abandonment of rational thought and logic. Unless it has a billion-trillion chances and more, you can expect that that which comes from belief by faith will produce only ideas which are likewise as irrational and illogical.

It's time to think rather than feel your way through life.

Logic is trustworthy. Emotion lies. Logic is science. Emotion is faith.

Read Richard Dawkins's book, "The God Delusion". He addresses the very questions you are asking. He shows that it is much more absurd to believe in a supremely complex God existed before the universe than to imagine that a simple processes created the universe.

But let's assume you insist on having a God create the universe. So what? What does this God have to do with anything in the universe after the universe is created. You might believe that God takes a personal interest in what is going on on our planet but there is nothing to show, prove, verify, in indicate that in the slightest. People imagine all sorts of things but that doesn't make them true. Belief is not truth.

Richard goes on to explain that evolution is only random at the molecular level. Darwin was very explicit in saying that natural selection was NOT a random process.

Look. You are very ignorant about a lot of science. If you want to carry on an intelligent conversation about science you are going to have to get a decent education in the sciences. Ignorance is no defense for your beliefs.

Some people choose not to believe in God because if there is a God who is powerful enough and intelligent enough to have created the world and everything that's in it, then everyone who is not God must acknowlege his sovreignty and become obedient to His will; and the fact of the matter is that some people don't want to be subject to anybody's will or accountable to anyone. Put differently, some people are their own god, and they reject anyone, including God, who would have them do something that they do not want to do. I believe your clock analogy is right on. I don't know how anyone can look at the earth and the design and complexity of all living things (particularly the human body and reproduction) and not believe that God exists.

Note: if we think the complexity of the universe (including us) proves an intelligent designer, then we're left with this proof failing on its own premise: God's complexity would then require an intelligent designer (and we get an infinite regression).
Bottom line: evolution is true. quantum physics is true. And, yes, God is true. But this God is completely beyond all the beliefs and ideas and anything we can say or think about it. No matter what, we're left with an Ultimate Mystery that is extremely difficult to get our minds around: that something always existed. And that this something contained everything that's needed to form a universe and sentient beings. And, with quantum physics and evolution, we see an interconnection among everything at the basis of reality. This 'something' contains 'us' and this somethnig is what God is. Can't be explained - just experienced (enlightenment).
What people reject is the made-up images of god that make god into this small, ego-like deity with attributes of judgement and reward. God is so beyond all that and yet believers and atheists alike focus on this made-up deity and miss the point completely.

Why don't you just believe in his teachings and leave the big bang theory to science.Do you believe in Santa clause too.Did you ever see Santa.Did you ever see god.
Point is the Bible was written by humans as a guide because we needed to believe in something good...God should of included animal respect in his teachings but back then who would off listened to such a crazy idea...right!!!
No offence to god but we need a revision,he should come back to finish his work and add respect all life...to his book.Like did god create Hitler too, i guess we all make mistakes. We need to take responsability for are actions and actually listen to his teachings for a change.

Some people reject God because they can find no evidence for Him which satisfies both their hearts and minds simultaneously. Then there are others who accept God on the basis of emotional or irrational reasons which satisfy their hearts, but leave their minds unsure. These two groups of people have never found a satisfying answer to the question of their relationship with God. Then there are yet others who have found the correct path which God intended for us: to accept Him and His message to us using our minds first and foremost, and the heart follows easily and naturally as a consequence.

Instead of searching for the answer, there are also some people who chose to simply brush the question aside and ignore it unfortunately. This is the easy way out of what appears to be a very difficult, mysterious question which may seem to have no final solution. Most of these people are unaware of a very powerful message which completely and unequivocally establishes the correct path to God. This message squares with both the mind and the heart, and it has no equal since it comes to us straight from God Himself.

The message comes in the form of a book. In fact, God has given us several Books of guidance through the years, but each one was ultimately corrupted and changed by dishonest people. Each Book essentially contained the same fundamental message as the previous Books. Mankind was expected to guard these Books from harm, but unfortunately failed to live up to this expectation. Slowly but surely, each Book was edited and tampered with, destroying its authenticity. This is partly why God kept sending us more revelations.

However, almost 1400 years ago, God sent us another Book with the same basic message as the earlier ones, but with a small but very important difference. This time, God decreed that this Book would be the last Book sent down to us because God would protect it Himself. Regarding this Final Book, God said,

"Behold, it is We Ourselves who have bestowed from on high this reminder: and behold, it is We who shall truly guard it" [Chapter 15, verse 9]

Today, if we compare the 114 chapters in every copy of this Final Book with each other, we will find they match perfectly word for word - from the oldest copies made 1300-plus years ago to the ones printed just a few hours ago. No human hand has changed it.

The rational person has every right to be doubtful, of course, if he or she has never read this book. For such people, here is a small sample of what the Final Book contains. Suppose we wanted to ask God several questions about Him and about ourselves. Short of Him speaking to us directly (such a privilege has been granted to only one person out of all humanity), the Book has the best answers one can find. It is on the strength of these answers that an honest person may be struck with the conviction that the Final Book is from none other than God Almighty. Again, here is only a small part of the information one might find

There. Is. ZERO. Evidence. That. A. God. Exists.

That, and the probability of a god existing is vanishingly low. Technically, there is a slightly higher probability of Santa Claus existing. And he was invented by a Dutch guy!

Oh... and read more about the Big Bang theory before dismissing it.

I guess it a matter of opinion that we all have. Many people have never had an experience with God and they can not see or hear Him, so, they tend to not believe. The Bible tells people; "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you". But, we have to make an Honest effort to make this happen, and, many will not begin to try. So, they never feel the presence of God. But, on the other side of the coin are people as yourself and others. We believe and those that do not, can not understand how we, can not believe so called Scientific evidence of Evolution.
Then on top of all this are all those who believe there is a God, but, we all differ in how we believe we come to know God. I believe it is through Jesus. Some feel it through other means.
So, here we all are. Some believe in God, some do not believe and everyone argues about it. ;-) Even those that do believe! :-O

As opposed to some random atoms coming together and creating an all-powerful, all-knowing, super-advanced deity (which by definition would have to be the most complex thing in the entire universe) all by themselves?
