Why would he be doing this? He said he wanted a relationship with me but just broke up with me out of nowhere. Why is he doing this? Is it because he is upset about it?

Hard to say. Sometimes they want to impress their friends and sometimes they never really were in love with us in the first place. Some guys just want to have a pretty girl on their arm until someone else comes along.
He obviously has issues and it's not your problem. Move on and find a nice guy who knows how to treat you right.

If a guy is being mean and he just broke up with you then the most thing is that he's trying to get his fustration out. He maybe having doubts about the relationship and may have situations of his own to deal with like family or a death or something. He probably just needs somebody to talk to and that can support him. Try asking him why does he put such an attitude on him. Ask him what did you do wrong and try to work things out from there. But most of all he shouldn't put out all his anger on you even though its part of his fault.

It doesn't matter why. You must have a strategy for saying something like " He seems to be hurt and is making things up that aren't true." You cannot go on a campaign to depict him as a liar but must deal with this directly whenever misrepresentations arise.

His friends are mostlikely his reasoning for the breakup and he really did not want to or he would have moved on. Some people have no life and stir do do in others.
