make a schedule of what your niece and nephew will be doing while with you. who will care for them if you aren't home, how you will deal with an illness, etc. give them good sound information and just show them you have put a lot of thought into the kid's visit. that you have every intention of keeping them safe and out of trouble. by doing this you will (hopefully) put heir minds to rest and trust you with the kids.

how about it would give them some "alone" time.. Also, you could say that it would been a good learning experience for them too see a new place and they would be able to take a plane and see some new sites. Although, I think if you stick to how it would really be good to give there parents a break that would help a lot. Also, I have to ask, is one of the reasons they are saying no because of lack of money for the plane tickets? If so maybe you could help with that or even let them know that you'll pay for everything while they are staying with you..

You are not going to like this, but it is all up to the parents to decide when and where your niece and nephew can visit.

Remember they are the parents and you aren't. If they live with the parents, they have the say so.

Now if they do decide to let them visit you. You will be responsible for them when they are with you. If they have to fly, I don't think the parents would let them go alone. It would probably be best to invite the whole family down, not just the nephew and niece.

it up to the parents and maybe they feel their kids might get into a lot of trouble if they can't be around to help out right away.

Whether you like it or not, it is up to their parents. Deal with it.
