love atheists and everyone for that matter instead of shunning them? I don't like it when people who proclaim to be christians call others bad things. Christians are to follow jesus, testify to nonbelievers. Not call them names and beat them down. That is not the christian way. Stop bashing nonbelievers. I am glad they are here so we can tell them about the lord.

And all of God's children say

AMEN!!

Sis, I can tell you take after your Father...you just are not willing that ANYONE should perish.
Pray for the rest of us that we can have more patience...cuz sometimes it is hard to turn that other cheek, if you know what I mean.

God bless you, Hun, and may you and yours enjoy His blessings all through the coming year!!

My intention is to never "bash" anyone. But some people are so far into error that they need to be "slapped," just as with someone who has lapsed into unconsciousness. They need to be woken up. They need to be told the truth, and sometimes the truth is sharp. The Bible afterall is a two-edged sword. Absolutely we need to be careful with people that we are representing Jesus Christ to them properly. He loves them and we should have that love in our hearts. But you will notice when you study the scriptiures, how Jesus spoke to the Pharisees (the religious people of that time). He was often very sharp with them. Much of what He said to them sounded very harsh and critical. But that was what they needed to hear the most. They needed someone to hold up a mirror in front of them and allow them to see how full of crap they were. As long as some people go around thinking that they are "so smart," they will not recognize their need for what we are here to offer them. Strongholds have to be broken sometimes to get the truth into people. Sometimes there is just no "nice" way of doing this. We must have the guidance of the Holy Spirit to know when we must tear down, and when we should rebuild. I don't mind getting lots of "thumbs down" to my responses, even from brothers and sisters. Because I'm not on here to be the most liked or the most popular. I am here to minister the truth of God's word by the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I actually tend to rejoice at negative feedback, because I know that what I'm saying is cutting against the lies that are in others, and that's why they respond the way that they do. My confidence is in God.

I believe in Jesus Christ but don't consider myself "Christian", because of the negative connotations associated with that particular organized religion. I treat anyone with any belief system equally. Some Christians are assholes, some atheists are assholes. Which belief system has the most assholes? Does it matter? A belief system doesn't define what you're going to act like.

People who say stuff like that to other belifes are not christians. they say they are but they are not. A true christian will try to help them and not put them down. they love everyone. Im sad that people think of christians that way.

You are so right. We shouldn't be calling them things that are hurtful to them. God may have been putting them here for us to witness to. Even though one doesn't agree with another, you don't have to kick them in the head.

Yes, you should. You might even get more converts to your religion that way (and don't you guys consider that to be a good thing?).

"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)

You do realize that in telling us about your lord (as truth/the "light") you do not love us [atheists] but are trying to indoctrinate us to believe in a myth and therefore have our common sense and logic taken away from us? Hypocrite.

You are NOT to "testify" to us atheists. You are to leave us be.
