I have a cuisinart and I love it. As a professional chef, I have used a number of food processors, and finally bought a cuisinart for use in my home.
Mine cost about $99 on sale at Kohl's.

I gotta go with the other experienced cooks.
Buy a good Cuisinart once in your lifetime. It will cost you less than replacing others as they wear out and break.
I like the 14 cup version. It is big enough for anything you will encounter at home. It makes great mayonnaise. It does super pie crusts. You can wash it by hand or just throw it in the dishwasher. On average, I use mine 2-3 times each week.

Do you know about freecycle.org?
Check it out. You can sign up for your neighborhood group. The whole purpose is to keep stuff out of landfill, and I'm betting that after Christmas there will be LOTS of people who got new food processors and want to give away their old ones. Everything is free and you're helping the environment.

I use a Cuisinart 11 Plus, it does everything but clean itself. The real question is what are your needs, will you use it more then once a week, once a month? Spend what you can afford for the best you can get for your money. It's like a sharp knife, once you've used one you start looking for another way to use it. Good Luck
