besides the fact that ur probably a coward and hate pain, its not going to matter what i have on my *** by the time im seventy cos i dont think many people are gonna be looking at it. and i dont think ill be showing anything off except my wheelies in my souped up chair by then. might as well enjoy it while i can.

i'm sorry that you have been misinformed and that you are a fairly closed minded person. i don't care what my tattoos will look like when i'm 80. i'll be just as old and wrinkly as all of the other 80 year olds. and at the rate people are going at with getting tattoos.... a quarter of the population will have them by then anyway. and now 40 is the new 25 so in 60 years 80 will be the new 50 and i'll still be hot.
also, the only person i got my tattoos for is me. and i think anybody could handle the pain if they wanted to. and i didn't get any tattoos because somebody else had them. tattoos are art and i am an art collector.

sorry to say this but you sound really close minded. Tattoos are a form of expression. People consider them beautiful. I'm sure there are some idiots who like to show them off and be like "Look what I can do!!!" but most people...including myself... love the art behind them. The memory of that time and place you were when you got it done. Its like a photograph, a snip bit of time that is now a part of you. It will be with you forever and that is AMAZING!
The way I view life is "to each his own" but I think you would be alot happier if you weren't so negative. Just because YOU don't like them doesn't mean they are gross or weird.
Good Luck in the rest of your life. I hope you are not sheltered forever & that you open your mind enough to learn from your peers.
Sincerely,
Lucky

I do not know why. I enjoy looking at the art of tattoo, but I don't think I would ever want to get one. I look back every 10 years , and look at the change I have gone through, mentally, physically and spiritually. I am not the same person I was 10 years ago. I will not be the same person I am today, 10 years from now. My ideas and tastes change too much. I have also spoke to a few senior citizens who have tattoos on there forearm, chest or wherever and they always tell me that they regret getting one. Most of them got it in WW2, Vietnam or the Korean war. I may get one to symbolize a child or children I have. A remembrance perhaps.

People who get tattooed for fashion or fads will most likely regret it when they are older, but those who do it for body adornment or who simply love the art of tattoos probably wont. I personally love them and find nothing disgusting about the 80 year old men/women that I see that tattoo conventions walking around with saggy tattooed skin. I do think its dumb of you to say that people get them to impress people or to show that they can handle the pain....pretty typical of a close minded person.

Most people with tattoos plan on killing themselves before they reach sixty or seventy. I performed a study on it while I was getting my Master's in psychology.

I've always wondered why people ask what is with people and tattoos nowadays. Tattoos, regardless of what people think, are not a new trend. They weren't created around 20 year olds who think they are cool. Tattoos have been around for centuries. People get them for every reason...because its cool right down to religious reasons. Tattoos aren't weird...they are a way of life. They aren't going away...so get used to them.

Do you spend every minute of your life wondering if what your doing today will reflect how you look or feel at 60? of course not, that would be dumb. Maybe you drink, smoke, eat fast food, party, dye your hair, wear fake nails, etc all things that could affect you and your appearance in your older age, but for some reason you are upset cause people get tats. Unless you have some kind of written promise from God that you will even be around to see yourself at 60, there is nothing saying you will even be around to see tomorrow (God forbid of course) but what I am trying to say is live life for today.

First of all, what is it like to be so small minded? I didn't get anything to impress anyone. I got mine because it is something special to me. And as far as handling pain, I'm terrified of needles so I had to over come a big fear to get them. When I'm sixty or seventy I really hope I won't be wearing clothes that will show my tats so who gives a damn? If you don't like tats please fell free to go answer some questions on scrape booking or something equally as pathetic

People get them because they like them...many get them where they cannot usually be seen (so not trying to impress anyone)...and I've never met anyone who did it to show they could handle pain *rolls eyes*
I have 2 and I'm not the least bit worried how they'll look when I'm 70 or 80...I'm going to have grey hair and wrinkly skin and gravity won't be my friend anyway...what difference could some ink possibly make?
