Does he graze on food little bits at a time at all? If so, I wouldn't worry about him, some kids eat like sparrows at times and I used to worry about my boys, they weigh the same as that at that age, but they are just fine. If you add all the small things they eat, you find they are actually getting enough nutrition, providint he foods aren't junk.
With positve reinforcement and healthy foods they are all good. You are a ood friend to worry :)

You need to explain to him that if he is to thin/looses to much weight he can be put in a hospital against his will by the state and they will surgically implant a feeding tube into his stomach to give him nutrition. If he thinks he'll be cool then he better get a reality check. Also take him online and show him stories of kids who are dying or died of anorexia maybe seeing that will give him a reality adjustment.

I think that getting him help from other people will not work that well, because people tend not to respond to people they dont know. I think you should try to talk to him about and see what got him into it in the first place. But, if he starts to not talk to you then try to relate yourself to him with some experience's of your own. If you can try to and in some hummor otherwise younger kids wont listen that well.
P.s. and dont try to scare him that much but a little isnt bad

Good luck!

Anorexia is generally caused when one feels that they cannot control anything in their life. One can always control what they put in their mouths. Try taking him out and spending some one on one time with him. The issue is deeper rooted than he thinks he may be fat. Try to find out exactly what the root problem is. Once you do, then try to correct it. It isn't as hard as it may sound. I am recovered from anorexia nervosa myself. Good luck.

He sounds like he's a normal weight for his age and height. I'd explain my concerns to either his parents, your own parents or a teacher who you trust since this is a problem that is too complex for you to deal with alone.

Do the right thing. Tell his parents, tell a teacher and don't stop until someone gets him help.

i dont think anyone can really help him, he just need to figure this out on his own. probably someone made fun of him regarding his eating habits or his appearance. the only person that can truly help him is the person who made him feel that he needs to starve himself to be perfect

as a good friend, go get him help immediately. His health is at risk and you are not helping him wasting your time on this.
