At 16 weeks it is very unlikely that your kitten is in heat. But if she were you would notice that she would be crouching down and standing at an angle parallel to the ground. Her meow would be deep and long. You may also notice her spotting blood. I would recommend that you take her to the vet and have her chekced out because 4 months is awful young.

PS..You may want to look into having her spayed...there are too many kittens in shelters that are put to sleep daily...do your part to help control the pet overpopulation!

Bleeding from her private area, sticking her butt up when male cats approach, mood swings.

Her "violence" could definitely be the outcome of her being in heat. My cat was fine until she went into heat, then she was really mean, but once her kittens were a certain age she mellowed out.

There is nothing subtle about a cat in heat. If she is, you'd know right off.
She will yowl. Constantly.
She will crouch down with her butt in the air and her tail to one side. And YOWL!!

Violence is something else. She just needs to be taught manners. Get a squirt bottle and squirt her when she's misbehaving.

introduce her to my seasoned four year male Vinny. If he walks away from her she is not in heat. If you see a blur, hear a sound like a chain saw trying to cut a rail road tie. she is in heat

Take her to the Vet. The Vet may spay her if she weighs enough. It is best to have them spayed before they go into heat.
