Well, train hard before you start sparring. It will help your confidence and give you the best chance to succeed. Jump rope, hit the heavy bag with all you have (this gave me better results in stregnth than any weight training could have), do sit-ups and forget the speed bag. Do lots of rounds on double end bags. Then, after a few months of training, get into the ring and spar 2 rounders for a few months...then move up to 3 rounders. Keep your head down and listen to your trainers. Good luck!

Depends how much money you want to spend and what type of 13 year old she is. As they are all different and they can change within 2 minutes. I Pods make up money jewelry phone (pre paid so there are no big massive bills) clothes diarys DVD's CD's(latest top 20) hand bag with a wallet as they are growing up and want to feel independent Thats a bit of a list thats things that i would buy my 13 year old siter and i live in Australia

yes sure i do . don't take up boxing . that is one sport that can really in a real way mess you up.
some basic things to know about fighting are . learn the proper stance and how to remain in it .
use your stance to reduce the possible area the other has as a target.
learn to anticipate the others next move and learn your counter moves.
never loose your temper stay calm and use the least force needed to stop the fight.

Like any martial arts always look in your sparrring mate's eyes, it is quite hard but when you get the hang of it it'll be ok. The reason eyes betray, it will show from your opponents eyes the place he is aiming to hit so you can parry it right away.
Give power to your fists, arms. a heavy puncher always delivers the KO blow.

Punch in the jaw. Most people punch in the nose or eye, but it'll just make their nose water or bleed for a bit. The jaw isn't made for hard hits so if you hit em' hard enough and you'll knock them clean out.
