I'm 16, so i know it's normal to have acne. But i've had a lot of pimples on my chin (in the part where there's a dip) for a long time now. I don't really have acne anywhere else. I've tried proactive, which barely helped. Neutrogena products made it a lot worse; in fact, it created a large swelling. What can i do? I'm tired of trying different products like Oxyclean and clean & clear. they barely help at all. the pimples "die down" a bit sometimes (probably has to do with my hormonal cycle), but they never completely go away. what has worked for you???

oh, and i don't really want creams with hormones that you get from the doctor. those cause too many other things.

You do take your makeup off at night with a, "MAKEUP REMOVER" like Clinique has don't you? Alot of the over the counter products do not melt makeup out of the pores and if this isn't done 1st the other cleaning products won't work. If this continues you may have to see a dermatologist because you could have a bacterial infection, which is common and you may need an antibiotic for awhile. Good luck.

My sister add real bad acne when she was a teenager. My mother took her to a dermatology and had her to write down everything that she was putting into her mouth. Amazing one of the item was plastic cover to ballpoint pens. She was chewing on the cap and she was having a reaction.

The doctor also told her to drink a glass of water with one teaspoon of baking soda thirty minutes before she ate strong acids--mustard, catsup, pickles, hot sauce, fruit juice, chocolate products, etc. This helps to neutralize the acid already in her system.

People always complement me on my complexion because I have very smooth skin. I have used Dial soap only on my skin for over twenty years. A doctor told me that dial goes down three layers to help remove any germs that are under the top layer.

One person posted a question today that read she had taken lecithin, and she thought it had cleared her acne up. I did some research on it, and it did say it can help.

Go to your doctor and get a prescription for Retin-A. It is THE best stuff there is and it's covered by insurance.
