I personally find it hard to be faithful. I'll never be able to follow a religion and gain "the love" of some sort of superior being, so I just turn to science because of it's rationality and logic.

I know in my "heart" I have made the right decision.

I think my religion is the correct one because of it's rationality and logic, it says that all paths lead to God.

It tells me that whatever brings you closer to God is a good thing.

It says that it is just one of many valid paths back to God.

It tells me to believe nothing just because I am told that it is true, even the things that it tells me. I says that I should use my logic and common sense to consider everything that I am told and keep only that which seems to make sense to me.

In truth it is not actually a religion at all. I follow the teachings of Jesus from a book called the course in miracles.

Personally I have to check myself from having an antagonistic attitude towards religion in general (especially Christianity) because I think it is important to respect what other people beleive.

A very over-simplified, watered-explanation is that Religion or ones concept of God is usually a transfer of ideas directly from cheif socialization agents or those with high levels of influence. Generally those ideas are usually a direct result of culture and personal experience.......so if we all live in different cultures and have different experiences and then interpret those expereinces differently.....it is reasonable to assume that Religious beliefs and constructs of God would be different from culture to culture and on a micro level, Religion would serve different purposes for different people. We cannot have the same path.

But thats just what I think.

I agree with you totally. I hope that you take the time to read my post because I'm sure many people will have an opinion on what you've written. I'm not sure why "faith" is not appealing to me. People throw the word around like it is synonymous with nobility or wisdom, but it is as dangerous as it is beneficial. Personally, I'm an Agnostic who HIGHLY doubts God is real. IF any God-like thing does exist, it is NOTHING like anyone has guessed. There is no logical way to conclude God is real or not. But until it is proven true, I'll stick to what I know.

thats perfectly understandable... science is very easy to come onto...
i personally believe in the God and Goddess because I do believe there is some kinda force that keeps everything together, somehow... My religion isnt about "loving" or "fearing" your god, its about paying respects for what they have given you. There are no favorites in my practice, like there is in christianity, there is no punishment for not doing something right or wrong, but i do believe what u do comes back... but not from the gods (like sending you to hell). Karma is to blame.

I'm a Muslim. Putting aside the fact that I do believe that my religion is the best of all, I love what the believers of my religion has contributed to humanity. In short, I love Islamic history.

The spiritual journey is an inward journey. To the extent that following a religion has helped me become a more integrated, perhaps more authentic, person, I suppose you could call it belief.

Aside from the majority of people who are going to respond with "JESUS MUST SAVE YOU", I will try to respond rationally. I was an agnostic like you, and I was converted to some level of spirituality/theism through the teachings of Edgar Cayce. I recommend you read up on his "Human Origins" theory, and his many other prophecies and future predictions (many of which have come true).

I lost faith in the human race as a child and chose to follow science and God in order to find truth because I couldn't trust humans to lead me to it.

I believe in my religion because:
1. I was baptized with it;
2. I received blessing;
3. The Lord's teachings are relevant; and
4. Science is not enough to explain certain things than happen to my life.

Well it is because we follow the Bible and not man. We try very hard to make sure to live by the Bible. We are not perfect, and we make mistakes, and do not think we are better then any one. We just keep God first in our lives.
