I had stomach pain in my lower right side eight days ago. I ignored it, but it hasn't gone away yet. Now it's not only my right side but I also feel some pain higher and some on my left side. The pain gets worse after I eat, though it's not as bad as I'm eating. Does anyone know what this possibly could be? I don't really want to have to go to the doctor unless it's absolutely necessary. Thanks

Well, common sence must prevail and you should be getting this investigated. If it is just a kidney infection then you may get away with drinking lots of water, and just resting up.
If you let it go, you may end up in hospital on a drip and on medications that are no fun at all.
Take the safe road and get checked out ok :) Have a safe new year.

See the Doctor right away 8 Days is to long to let this keep simmering away. I ended up in Hospital over something very similar 5 years ago.I took bad on Christmas Day in the Evening, I thought i was having a Heart Attack, I had a violent Pain from my Chest Region down to the Bottom of my Torso. Eventually I Vomited and then I had to Run to the Toilet, so i thought it was food Poisoning , and so I waited to the next Day when the pain had eased down somewhat. I said to myself its only food Poisoning it will clear up .After 9 DAys Not eating and not drinking .I put the food on the table it would be there 3 hours later i could not eat or drink. Eventually went to the Doctor He thought it might be an Aneurism ,so I was sent to Hospital with a Letter from the Doctor.Eventually after loads of tests with the possibility of it being anything from Ulcers to Cancer it was finally diagnosed as Gall Bladder with a Benign Cyst caused by Gall Stones.I had lost about42 Pounds.Eventually after two stays in Hospital they took it out,They were going to do Key Hole Surgery but because Stomach was In flamed so much swollen and sore they done it the old fashioned way a Laperotomy that is a cut about 10 inches across the stomach.

I am afraid it is absolutely necessary to go to the doctor. You should wait no more. Eight days with pain in your abdominal area is really dangerous. Don't take advices from all of us who are not real doctors, see a real one, but soon.

Hope you get better soon.

I had the same thing for months and I finally saw a GI specialist. This is probably IBS which can be affected by certain foods. If the foods that make it hurt worse are tomato products, corn, popcorn, onions, spices especially pepper and it affects your bowels after eating you should see the doctor.
