do a thesis on metabolic rates that vary depending on the altitude. we moved from new orleans which is under sea level to colorado which were we live is 8,400 ft above sea level.

i am losing weight here not because i am trying to do so, but it seems even though i eat as much as i did down at sea level, i burn more calories. my husband in 8 months lost 45 lbs. and i lost 30. folks here say your metabolism high above sea level rans 3 times faster and you burn even while asleep. they say 2.5 hours work here is equivalent to 8 hours at sea level.

do your thesis to find out if there is some truth to this or it is a fallacy.

You can't ask here. You have to interview your profs, especially the one who will direct your thesis. Profs have research programs. Ask these profs what are theirs. From the nature of your question, you are an undergraduate. These profs have graduate students going for Ph.D.'s. That's why I suggest that you ask them.
