It doesn't take sole willpower to quit. Your body adapts to the drugs. It may not even be good to quit coldturkey. Advise her to go see a doctor or counseling to quit.

It's extremely rare for someone with an addiction to be able to quit on their own and prescription drug addictions are very dangerous to try to quit without help. I suggest your friend talks to a doctor or counselor who specializes in addiction or to a rehab center. They will give your friend the best treatment options and keep their information confidential.

If she's been addicted for awhile she shouldn't try quitting on her own cold turkey. There can be some serious withdrawal symptoms. It's similar to alcohol withdrawal. She should talk to a doctor. They'll need to be withdrawn gradually over a period of time. If she's severely addicted it's best to do it under medical supervision. They can treat serious symptoms like seizures or delirium should they develop. Then after she gets off of them she'll need counseling and support groups to stay clean.

with pain pills they are going to need to get into some type of treatment program... think about how much pain you would be in if you were used to takin pain killers all the time... those are really hard to break but once they get into a facility you could go to alanon meetings its like an AA meeting for the family and friends of the person addicted.. it helps you too. good luck!

Look in the phone book and find the first AA meeting....she will meet a lot of the greatest people she could ever want to know. She may need to get some professional help as in a rehab. God bless you for caring and bless her spirit to change.

It is best to use alternative medicine since pain pills have side effects.
Tell her to eat cherries, a natural pain killer, try ice or heat for pain.
Get her some vitamins cause pain pills drain all vitamins
