if ur a grown woman 1200 calories per day is NOT enough, and if ur not a full grown woman then u shouldn't be on a diet at all! ur body's still developing. and plus by not eating breakfast and so little lunch u are doing something really bad to ur body, why breakfast is the most important meal of the day! It gets ur body started so it can function properly throughout the day, or else u'll have trouble thinking, learning, working, concentrating, whatever.
and YES, using up all ur daily calories at dinner IS NOT GOOD! u don't run around and exercise after dinner do u? well even if u do ur body pretty much goes into resting mood after dinner, and everyone i know lies on the couch and watch tv after dinner. in fact, eating too much dinner will make u fatter, because u can't burn it between after dinner and when u go to sleep.
i say increase ur daily caloric intake up to 1300 (at least). 300 somthing for breakfast, 500 something for lunch and 500 something for dinner

It IS bad.
Let me tell you why:
1) overall caloric intake is too low. You need at least 1300-1400 just for your basal metabolism;
2) skipping breakfast makes your metabolism slow down, which means you will burn less calories than you would otherwise;
3) all those calories at night and on a groggy metabolism will make you put them all up in fat.
You need to eat something like 1600-1700 calories, eat 7 small meals a day, NOT to skip breakfast, and NOT to eat all those calories just before going to bed.
Basically, if you want to lose weight what you are doing isn't going to get you there. You will be tired, hungry, keep most of your fat on and lose muscle instead (which won't help in burning fat anymore!!!).

1200 calories is fine if you can function on it, but you really need to make sure you are getting the proper vitamins and minerals. I suggest that you move about 500 of your dinner calories to breakfast and take a multiitamin, it will keep you more full throughout the day. Eating the bulk of your calories too late at night can mess with your metabolism and make you gain more weight. Think about a protein shake in the morning to jump start your day.

1200 calories is too little. You need at least 1500 calories to function properly.
But anyway, to answer your question -- yes, it is bad eating that much at dinner and so little at other meals. You should spread out your intake throughout the day. Think of it as firewood. It's easier to burn through a bunch of twigs then to burn through a whole log. If you eat very little during the day, and then eat a huge dinner it's counterproductive to losing weight.
AND DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST!! I can name a million reasons why it's bad for your mental functions, but I don't think that's what you're worried about. But did you know that skipping breakfast slows down your metabolism throughout the day? Eat breakfast and you'll be more energetic AND lose more weight.
Good luck.

never skip breakfast. its called break-fast for a reason. Eating breakfast puts your metabolism into burn mode. Its easier for your body to burn a bunch of small meals than one large meal.. what you are doing is very unhealthy. 1000 calories is A TON of food to consume in one meal, I cant even fathom how you manage that.. unless the foods are extreemly high in calories and fat, and those foods are not appropriate to be eating on a diet, anyhow.
The best way to lose weight is to have 3 sensible meals a day, and two snacks.. have a serving of protein with at least 2 of the 3 large meals, and make sure your snacks are 200 calories or less.. always containing fiber. Take a fiber supplement, if you are not getting enough per day to help with digestion.

your body needs small amounts of fuel in several doses a day. this is why it is recommended that you eat 5-6 small meals a day. you will drop weight and body fat by eating this way. right now you are slowing down your own weight loss plans by skipping breakfast, eating lunch, and then a large dinner. your body doesn't need 1000 calories at once, so when you eat this many at dinner it is storing whatever it doesn't need. if you give your body b/w 200 and 400 calories 5-6 times a day then it uses it up right away.

you shouldn't skip breakfast. Eating breakfast makes you live longer known by scientific studies. I think you have all those calories because you eat so little before dinner.
Also, women should have a 2000 calories everyday if you want a diet try 1,500.

I've heard that it doesn't matter when you consume your calories...just as long as you don't go over the amount you are aiming for. I would recommend eating breakfast though if you can. It does wonders on curbing your appetite and getting you through your day. Good luck!
