Well, I had a crush on this guy since I was 3. My family and friends always teaased us for each other for the last 13 years. For the last 1 years, I looked at hispicture and I couldn't get him out of my mind.A week ago I saw him for the first time, and I can't get him out of my mind. Everywhere I look,I see him. I can't sleep or do anything. All I do is think about him all day and night. And when he's not around,I start to cry. I feel like i'll die without him. Today he went back to New York, and I feel like my world is over. I cried the entire day.. Am I in love or what?

You're definitely in deep like! It's tough, huh? Sorry he's gone back to NY, but you can keep in touch through e-mails, etc. Love can be painful and joyous and crazy but now that you feel this way there is no reason the two of you cannot keep in touch. Who knows what can happen in the future? Love can suck, but it's also the best thing around. Try to get out and talk to friends so you won't be home as often feeling so sad. Try to talk to your Mom about it, too. She's been there. We all have.

Good luck! It's a whole new year.

There's a big difference between being in love, and infatuation. If you've had this crush since you were 3, and have had it for 13 yrs, then it's not love. That's infatuation. If it were love, you and him would have conncected a long time ago. Please don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you might need to seek a little counseling. This kind of infatuation (the kind that you "can't stop thinking about him day and night") can be dangerous.

I think your reaction to this situation says more about you and your current situation than about whether or not you are in love. No matter how much "in love" you feel, believing that your world is over or that you would die without someone is just not that healthy. Focus on building your life so that you do not need to rely on someone else for your happiness.

I would call that infatuation, and immature infatuation, at that. My definition of love is a little different and involves more interaction between two people, such as spending time with each other--doing things and developing a relationship that is mutually supportive--not one sided.

Have you two ever done things together? (i.e. go to the movies, zoo, etc) If so and you connected on an emotional level, then its possible you are falling in love with him. If not, and you are basing this just on what he looks like, then its most likely lust and not love.

No you are obsessed with the idea of being in love. When someone you love goes away you chill and wait for their return ..It also sounds to me that you suffer from something called separation anxiety...Don't mistake wanting love so bad into making yourself believe its love..when you love somebody for real you will know it....and not have to ask anyone..look up meaning of love on google..you will learn allot

sounds like infatuation bordering on obsession. you can't be in love with some one you haven't spent enough time with to know or not. Go out with your friends, and try to get your mind off him a little bit.
