Each bulb takes less power but a string takes up much more. Think of how many strings of lights are on your house and think of how many strings are in the average subdivision. Imagine how many strings are lit up across the nation. For what? Is this a wise use of energy that contributes to global warming? They may look pretty until you realise the real cost and damage they are doing. Celebrate your holiday, but leave the lights off.

depends on how many you have lite. they do go by wattage so it could be way more expenisve than a regular bulb
