Say, the next 70 years.

Will there be a nuclear Sino-American (vs China) war?

If China grows to be an economic powerhouse and a larger world superpower than the U.S., can the transition from the top be peaceful?

If China invades Taiwan to assert their dependence, will the U.S. intervene militarily?

Yes, I believe nuclear weapons will be used again. The most likely scenarios in my opinion are terrorists setting off a nuclear bomb in a city, or as you said, a war over Taiwan between the U.S. and China.

It's not only possible, its probable. In view of the aging Russian early warning systems, a nuclear war could happen at any time. You hear of all the talk about Iran and terrorists getting ahold of A nuke. Little is heard about the two bulls in the glass shop.

The arsenals of the US and Russia are the scary scenarios when you're talking nuclear war. Not so much the US causing it, but mainly from an accidental launch by the Russians thinking that NATO or the US launched against them. It nearly happened in 1995, when the Russian 'suitcase' with the launch codes was activated for the first time in history....and this was in the POST-Cold War!!!

I honestly think the answer is yes. I am now 35 years old and I will never forget watching "The Day After" back in the 7th or 8th grade in the early '80's. I really thought that's what a nuclear war was going to be like.

These days though, I really think it will be more tactical or a dirty bomb. I think some nation (or otherwise radical group) will get PO'd and decide to use one. Could be North Korea...could be the Middle East against Israel...or even Israel if one of their neighbors crosses the line. I don't think it will be one of the powers of the world - US, China, or Russia.

I don't know or not if it will be the opening of a Pandora's box or not...I hope if it does happen that it will be a single isolated incident. But who knows.

You are probably right. There might be a nuclear conflict of a sort. But I do not believe it will be with China: they already won the war with the United States, because just about everything we have is produced there. Chinese are not about to blow up such tremendous market.

China is a country you don't have to worry about. The one you have to wrry about is Iran then Iraq. Iran is taunting the global society with it's mock enrichment for energy use. Iraq will turn to Iran for help and then you'll see them attack Isreal which will get us involved.
Yes, you will see a mushroom cloud but don't be afraid. Face your fears with faith and the survival power you have inside. Plan for this and you will be ready for it.
Good luck and God Bless.

Hopefully not, though governments may be opposed to each other thier citizens(if they are the least bit knowlegable of the teriffying power of nuclear weapons) will not wish to see them used on other people.

The US would probaly not "directly" use one unless they were attacked by one first.

I hope those things are NEVER used. There are so may nukes on this planet that if they all detonated at once, the Earth would be turned into nothing but ash floating in space.
