She is 4 1/2 months old and she used to be nice but now she is overly violent towards everyone, like shes posessed or something, she hisses, growls, scratches and bites. Its horrible, I love her to death, but I cant live in fear of my friggin cat! What could be the reason for this??

She doesnt like to be touched at all, she could be in heat but I'm not sure. She has lived here all her life with the same ppl, no kids, no injuries just normality. I dont understand, I kill her with kindness but its not working. My arms are nothing but scratches, my fiance got bit last night so hard and then she tried to attack him, I need an exorcist

Is she current on her vaccinations? Rabies and distemper could cause this. Sometimes trauma or injury can cause violent behavior as well. Give your vet a call and explain the sudden change in behavior. S/he should be able to give you some helpful information. Good luck!

Well, I don't have enough information to give you a reason, unless she's going through an unusually early heat. Have you asked your vet? They do have mood swings between four and six months, not exactly like adolescence but their personality is changing as their hormone levels change and they add experience to instinct. Talk to your vet, especially if she is putting her tail in the air, rolling on the floor and yowling-that could be heat, and is temporary. Also, have there been any changes to her environment? Have you left her alone more than you did at first, for a weekend or something? While you're figuring it out, here's something to try. Get a squirt bottle, but either buy one new or make sure it's clean. Fill it with water. When she behaves like the kitty from hell, squirt her. When she is loving-or at least neutral-reward her, with a bit of a treat or some cat nip. At first, reward her every time she is "good", then reward every other time, then space it out more. This is called intermittent reinforcement, and it's the absolute best way to change a behavior. I'm only suggesting the "punisher" (the squirter) because your kitty needs to change tracks. It won't hurt her, it's what's called an aversive stimulus, like a buzzing sound or something similar. It's annoying. She associates behaving like Frankencat with being annoyed by a spritz of wetness, and associates being friendly with good stuff. And since she never knows when she'll get the good stuff, she'll keep trying for it-that's the beauty of intermittent reinforcement. Punishment must be used every time to be effective, while reinforcement can be rationed out and work even better. So limit your squirting to really obnoxious stuff and depend on the reinforcement to pull her the rest of the way through. Your goal is intrinsic reinforcement-being loving cause she loves you-but keep the treats on hand, you know...just cause you love how she loves you. And be patient. Cats are complex creatures. Give her some time, and maybe some space...don't pick her up, let her come to you. Try to hang in there. Your vet might be able to give you advice based on her breed or medical history, and if need be prescribe a mild sedative, but I'd go with the paired mild aversive and constant to intermittent reinforcement I outlined.

Possibly it is because she is growing up and wants a mate to mate with. Most cats like to roam and some go missing for Days if you let them, and they can pick up Diseases. I have heard that Feral Cats those that are strays and half wild can pick up a Disease that drives them Mad and can be Dangerous to approach
and they will Scrawb you with there nails and Infect you with Tetanus and other Diseases, and if youre Cat gets into a Fight with this Wild Cat Diseases can be passed on.For youre Own Safety a visit to the Vet is needed.

Yes, sounds like she may be hurting somewhere, I'd take her to the vet to see if they can explain such a drastic personality change. Or could this possibly be something to do with sexual maturity?? Is she spayed? Did you recently get another pet that could be imposing on her territory?

She might have something going on and is in pain. You might want to consider a vet visit. My friends dog got really cranky with everyone, growled all the time and even beat her other dog up several times. They finally took her to the vet and found out she had a really really bad tooth! Pulled that tooth out and she became her same old self!

Something is wrong! See the vet to check for physical causes and think of any environmental stresses that could be upsetting her.

she could possibly be hearing something bothering her... they hvae good hearing... or she could be scared.. hvae you moved? gotten a new someone in your life? cats arent good with new things. Something to help get her back on track.... buy a squirt bottle.. whenever she is being mean... squirt her.. it sounds mean but it will work.. cats hate water. it should put her in her place. If she continues to be mean... she might have a problem.. take her to the vet. She might hvae worms. check her poop. she might be wanting to tell you something. worms are bad they will cause your cat to moan and groan. vet is the best choice if you cant figure something outin the next two weeks. good luck!

cats dont like dramatic change in their home environment, new arrivals, new pets etc.this can sometimes trigger bouts of aggression.another possibility is that she may be injured and in pain.a trip to the vet might be in order.
